calls run device to device, so talking costs nothing

### 12

Message Types
text, photo, video, voice, docs, location, contacts

### Voice and Video Calling Is Included, Not Rented

Calls connect directly between the two phones rather than through a paid calling service, so a million minutes of conversation costs you the same as none. Group calls work the same way.

### Rebrand It From the Console, Not the Codebase

Your name, your logo, your colours, your languages, your privacy policy and your sign-in methods are all settings a non-technical person can change. A new brand is an afternoon, not a release.

Live in Action

## WhatsApp Clone Demo - Two Live Accounts, Operator Console & Android Build

Try it yourself, right now. Two working accounts are set up and both are live, which matters here more than on any other demo: messaging only proves itself when there are two people in the conversation. Open the first account in your browser, the second in a private window, and send a message between them. You will see it arrive instantly, watch the ticks change as it is read, and see the typing indicator appear as the other side replies.

ACCOUNT ONE

### WhatsApp Clone - Chats, Calls, Stories & Media

What your users see. The chat list with its story tray across the top, one-to-one and group conversations, voice and video calling, photos, videos, voice notes, documents, location and contact sharing, polls, reactions, replies, forwarding, starring and pinning. Set a wallpaper, pick an avatar, change the language.

- Open the web app in your browser
- Login with the first phone number below
- Explore: Chats, Calls, Stories, Media

ACCOUNT TWO

### The Other Side of the Conversation

Open this one in a private window or a second browser and you have a real two-way test. Send a message from account one and watch it land here in real time. Reply, and watch the read receipts and typing indicator update on the first account. Start a call between the two, post a story on one and view it from the other to see the viewer list fill in.

### Users, Moderation, Analytics & Branding

Where you actually run the platform. Fifteen dashboard metrics covering signups, active users, groups and call volume, plus the reported-users and reported-groups queues, user and group blocking, the report-reason taxonomy, language and translation management, your branding and your integration keys. We walk you through this one live rather than leaving an operator login open on the public internet.

- We open the console and drive it for you

ANDROID BUILD

### The Real App on a Real Phone

The browser demo shows the product; the Android build shows the experience. Install it and you get push notifications that name the sender, ringtones on incoming calls, the camera and gallery wired into the composer, voice notes recorded from the app, contacts synced from your phone book, and messages cached locally so the app opens instantly and keeps working when the signal drops.

- Download the Android build
- Sign in with either demo number above
- Test: push, calls, camera, contacts, offline

Watch It Work

## WhatsApp Clone App Video Demo - Chat, Call & Operator Walkthrough

A walkthrough of how the platform actually runs a normal day of use, rather than a feature reel. It starts with a phone number and a one-time code, moves through a first conversation with photos and a voice note, adds a group and promotes a second admin, places a video call, posts a story and checks who viewed it, then finishes in the operator console where the same activity shows up as numbers, and a reported account is reviewed and blocked.

## WhatsApp Clone App Screens - Chats, Calls, Stories & Operator Console

The interface across the surfaces that matter: the chat list with its story tray, a one-to-one conversation with replies, reactions and read receipts, a group with its member list and admin controls, the calling screens for voice and video, the story viewer with its viewer list, the profile and settings screens with wallpaper, avatar and language pickers, and the operator console with its dashboard, moderation queues and branding panels.

The same screens ship on iPhone, on Android and in the browser, because all three talk to one API and one real-time layer rather than each carrying their own idea of what a message is.

## WhatsApp Clone Platform References - What the Build Actually Does

Miracuves has shipped marketplaces, social platforms and consultation products where messaging was one component, and those engagements are published in the portfolio with their own figures. None of them is a pure messaging platform, so rather than dress this build in proof borrowed from a different kind of product, the statements below are properties of the platform itself. Every one of them is demonstrable in the two live accounts above.

Messages move over a persistent socket connection rather than by polling, so delivery is effectively instant, and one account can be signed in on a phone and a browser at once with both receiving every message. Demonstrable in the two demo accounts.

                                Real-Time Delivery

                                Base build capability

Voice and video calls connect directly between devices using WebRTC, with a relay server as fallback when a restrictive network blocks the direct route. No per-minute charge from a calling vendor sits between you and your users.

                                Calling Without Call Charges

                                Base build capability

Sixteen languages ship in the build, including right-to-left layouts, and a seventeenth can be added and translated from the operator console without a code change or an app-store resubmission.

                                Sixteen Languages, Extensible

                                Base build capability

Reporting, blocking, per-conversation locks, an operator-managed list of report reasons and a moderation queue for both users and groups all arrive built, rather than being retrofitted after the first incident.

                                Moderation Ships Built In

                                Base build capability

## WhatsApp Clone Modelled Reference - A Branded Community Messenger

A modelled reference deployment showing how the Miracuves WhatsApp Clone is configured for an organization that wants its community talking inside its own app instead of in an unmanaged group on someone else’s platform. This is not a client engagement and the figures are properties of the platform rather than results reported by a customer.

      ⚡ Challenges

- A community living in an unofficial group chat nobody owns or can moderate
- No way to see who is active, or to remove someone properly rather than from one group
- Group size capped by a consumer platform, and rules that can change without warning

      🎯 Goal

- One branded app holding one-to-one chat, groups, calling and stories together
- A moderation queue with the organization's own report reasons behind it
- Members, conversations and media on infrastructure the organization controls

      🛠 Solution by Miracuves

- One-to-one and group messaging with read receipts, typing and presence
- WebRTC voice and video calling with no per-minute charge from a calling vendor
- Sixteen languages with right-to-left handled properly
- Stories, polls, reactions, replies, forwarding, starring and pinning
- Self-hosted deployment with the database and media inside the operator's own jurisdiction

This is a modelled reference deployment, not a client engagement. Every capability listed above ships in the base build and is demonstrable in the two live demo accounts. The figures are properties of the platform, not results reported by a customer.

        OY

Named client deployments are published separately
See the Miracuves portfolio for real engagements with their own reported figures.

**Model this against your own community**
We will map messaging, calling, moderation and the language set against your own community.

The Case for Owning It

## Why Operators Choose to Own Their Messaging Layer

Most organizations run their community inside a consumer messaging app because it was free and everyone already had it. That works right up until it does not: you cannot see who is active, you cannot remove someone properly, you cannot brand any of it, the group size is capped by someone else, and the relationship with your own members belongs to a company you have no agreement with.

### You Can See What Is Happening

Signups by week and month, active users right now and in the last thirty minutes, groups created, audio and video call volume, where in the world your users are, and whether they are on mobile or web.

### You Set the Rules

Your own list of report reasons, a moderation queue for users and groups, the ability to block either, and a group size limit you choose rather than one imposed on you.

### You Keep the Relationship

The user records, the conversations and the media all live in your database on your infrastructure. Nobody can change the terms, throttle your reach or close your community.

The Problem With Renting Your Community

### What Owning It Changes

Owning the platform changes the shape of the problem. The members are yours, the data sits on your servers, the rules are yours to set, and the app carries your name. Nothing about the daily experience gets worse for the people using it – they still open an app, tap a name and start talking – but everything about your position improves.

- Your brand on the app, the splash screen and the notifications
- Your languages, including right-to-left, added without a release
- Your moderation rules and your own report reasons
- Your servers, your database, your data residency
- Your source code, with no licence conditions attached

![WhatsApp Clone desktop group conversation with an open profile panel showing avatar, contact details and chat history.](https://miracuves.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/MXWhatZ-08-07-2026_11_06_AM-768x480.webp "How Does a Messaging Platform Business Model Create Value Beyond Personal Chat? 39")

This is the difference between having a community and hosting one. Hosting it means you decide who belongs, what the limits are, which languages it speaks, and what happens when someone behaves badly. It also means you can see it: signups, active users, groups formed, calls placed, all of it in a dashboard rather than guessed at.

## WhatsApp Clone Features - Chat, Calling, Stories & Community Tools

Our WhatsApp Clone arrives with everything people expect from a messaging app they already use every day, and everything an operator needs to run it properly. Nothing below is an optional module that appears on a second invoice.

### One-to-One Messaging

The conversation people came for. Send a message and watch it turn from delivered to read, see when the other person is typing, and search back through the history when you need something from last month.

- One-to-one conversations with anyone on the platform
- Delivered and read ticks, plus typing indicators
- Online status and last-seen
- Search inside a conversation for an old message

### Groups & Communities

Create a group, name it, give it a photo and add members. Promote people you trust to admin, remove people you do not, and let a group be public so new members can find it.

- Groups with a name, a photo and a member list
- Promote members to admin, remove them, or leave
- Public groups people can find and join
- Group size limit you set yourself

### Voice & Video Calling

Call one person or a group, over voice or video, with a proper incoming-call screen and ringtone. Every call is logged as missed, accepted or declined with its duration.

- Voice and video calls, one-to-one and group
- Proper incoming-call screen with a ringtone
- Missed, accepted and declined all recorded
- Call history filtered by missed, audio or video

### Rich Media Sharing

Photos, videos, voice notes, documents, GIFs, a location pin and a contact card. The app compresses video and makes thumbnails before uploading, so sending is quick even on a poor connection.

- Photos and videos from camera or gallery
- Voice notes recorded in the app
- Documents, including PDFs
- GIFs, location pins and contact cards

### Stories That Disappear

Post photos and videos that vanish after 24 hours, with a caption on each. See exactly who watched, and reply to someone's story straight into a private chat.

- Stories that disappear after 24 hours
- Several photos or videos in one story
- A caption on each one
- See exactly who viewed it

### Replies, Reactions & Polls

Reply to one message inside a busy thread, react with an emoji, forward something to another chat, or put a question to a group as a poll and watch the results update live.

- Reply to a specific message in the thread
- Forward a message to another chat
- React with an emoji
- Run a poll and watch the votes come in

### Star, Pin, Archive & Lock

Star the messages you will need again, pin an important one to the top for a day or forever, archive a quiet chat out of the way, and lock a private conversation behind its own password.

- Star a message to find it again later
- Pin a message for a day, a week, a month or for good
- Archive a conversation out of the main list
- Lock a conversation behind its own password

### Delete on Your Terms

Remove a message just for yourself, take it back from everyone in the chat, clear an entire conversation, or delete your whole account. Each one is a separate, deliberate action.

- Delete a message just for you
- Delete it for everyone in the chat
- Clear a whole conversation
- Delete your account entirely

### Contacts & Discovery

Sync the contacts already on the phone, see which of them are on your platform, save your own name for someone, and search for people who are not in your address book yet.

- Sync the contacts already in your phone
- Save your own name for someone
- See which of your contacts are on the platform
- Search for people by name or number

### Notifications That Say Something

Push notifications name the sender and say what arrived - a photo, a video, a document - rather than a blank alert. Incoming calls ring properly, even with the app closed.

- Push notifications that name the sender
- Different wording for a photo, video or document
- Call notifications you can answer from the lock screen
- Ringtones and in-app sounds

### Private by Default

Conversations are end-to-end encrypted, so message content is unreadable in transit and in your database. On top of that, anyone can block someone, report a person or a group with a reason, and lock a sensitive chat behind its own password.

- End-to-end encrypted conversations
- Block someone, and unblock them later
- Report a person or a group
- Lock a private chat behind its own password

### Sixteen Languages

Arabic, Danish, German, Greek, English, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Turkish and Chinese, with right-to-left layouts handled properly.

- Sign in with a phone number and a one-time code
- Or with email, or with Apple, Google or Facebook
- Signed in on your phone and your browser at once
- Sixteen languages to choose from

Everything on this list is in the platform you receive at the fixed price, end-to-end encrypted messaging included. What is not here – payment processing, subscription billing, or anything specific to your own market – is named openly further down the page rather than implied to be included.

Four Surfaces, One Platform

## WhatsApp Clone Apps - iPhone, Android, Web & Operator Console

People will reach your platform from whatever is in their hand, so all four surfaces ship together and stay in step. The mobile apps come from a single Flutter codebase, which is why iPhone and Android get the same features at the same time instead of one waiting on the other.

### The iPhone App

A native iOS build with push notifications, camera and gallery access, voice-note recording, contact sync and background call handling. Published under your own developer account.

### The Android App

The same feature set from the same codebase, installable as an APK for testing and publishable to Play under your own account. Available to try on this page right now.

### The Web App

Full messaging, calling, stories and settings in the browser, for the people who work at a desk all day. No install, no extension, nothing to keep updated.

### The Operator Console

Your dashboard. Fifteen live metrics, the moderation queues, user and group management, language and translation tools, your branding, your legal links and your integration keys.

### Signed In Everywhere at Once

One account can hold several live connections, so a message reaches the phone and the browser together. Read it on one and the other updates, rather than showing it as unread all day.

### Works When the Signal Does Not

The mobile app keeps conversations cached on the device, so it opens instantly and stays readable through a dead spot, then catches up when the connection returns.

The browser app is not a cut-down version either. Someone at a desk gets the same conversations, the same calls, the same stories and the same settings as someone on a phone, and can be signed in on both at once with messages arriving on each.

Run It Without a Dev Team

## WhatsApp Clone Admin Console - Analytics, Moderation, Branding & Languages

The operator console is where you actually run the platform, and it is built for your operations team rather than for developers. Everything that decides how the platform looks, which languages it speaks, who is allowed on it and what happens when someone is reported is a form in a browser, not a change request.

### Operator Console Sections

### The Dashboard

Fifteen live figures: total users and the change on last week, groups and their trend, audio and video call counts, your newest users and groups, weekly, monthly and yearly signup curves, and where in the world your traffic comes from.

### Who Is Online Now

Active users at this moment and in the last thirty minutes, the split between mobile and web, and which sign-in method people actually used - so you learn whether to keep paying for SMS.

### Reported Users

Every report that comes in, who filed it, who it is about, the reason chosen and the conversation it came from. Review it, mark it seen, and block the account if it warrants it.

### Reported Groups

The same queue for groups, with every report against a group in one place and the option to block the whole group rather than chasing its members one at a time.

### Your Report Reasons

The list of reasons people can choose when reporting is yours to write, separately for users and for groups, so the categories match what actually goes wrong on your platform.

### User Management

The full directory with search, the ability to block and unblock, and a record of which accounts your team has already looked at so two moderators do not duplicate the work.

### Branding & Appearance

App and website name, primary and secondary colours, light and dark logos, favicon, banner, copyright text and store links - all editable by someone who has never seen a terminal.

### Languages & Translation

Add a language, translate the interface key by key or all at once, enable or disable it, and choose which one new users get by default.

### Wallpapers & Avatars

Curate the chat wallpapers and the default profile avatars your users can choose from, plus the ringtones and alert sounds the apps use.

- Your app name, logo and brand colours
- Light and dark logo, favicon and banner
- Your privacy policy and terms links
- Your store links and copyright line

### Integration Keys

Your own SMS, push, maps and email credentials, entered once and stored server-side. The console shows them masked, so an operator can manage them without ever seeing the secret.

- Add a language and translate it in place
- Turn languages on and off, set the default
- Right-to-left handled per language
- No app-store resubmission to change wording

Because all of this is configuration rather than code, the same build serves a completely different brand in a completely different market on the same afternoon. That is what makes the platform resellable rather than merely reusable.

Transparent Pricing

## How Much Does It Cost to Build an App Like WhatsApp in 2026?

Building this from scratch means an iPhone app, an Android app, a browser client and an operator console, and then the parts nobody thinks to demo: a real-time layer that holds thousands of live connections, WebRTC calling that survives restrictive networks, read receipts and typing indicators that stay correct across two devices, sixteen translated languages with right-to-left, and a moderation system that works the first time somebody has to be removed. Quotes for that work start with a discovery phase and grow through change requests, because the expensive parts are invisible until they break. The fixed price below is the alternative to discovering that scope one invoice at a time.

What is deliberately not in this list is anything we would have to invent to claim. There is no payment processing and no subscription billing, because a messenger does not need one and the right provider depends entirely on your market; both are named in the add-ons section below with an honest description of what they would involve.

Where It Fits

## Who Is Our WhatsApp Clone App Built For?

The platform suits any organization whose people already talk to each other constantly, and who would rather that conversation happened somewhere they control than in a group chat on a consumer app.

###### Community & Membership Organizations

Associations, clubs, congregations, alumni networks and interest groups whose members already run an unofficial group chat somewhere. Bring it in-house, under your name, with real moderation and a size limit you set.
###### Enterprises & Internal Teams

Companies that need staff talking on a channel the business actually owns, with the messages on their own servers, accounts they can close on someone's last day, and no dependence on a consumer app's terms.
###### Regional & Language-Specific Messengers

Operators building for a market a global app serves badly. Sixteen languages ship, right-to-left works properly, and a seventeenth is a console entry rather than a development project.
###### Education & Campus Networks

Schools, colleges and training providers who need class groups, announcements and staff-to-student contact inside a moderated environment with a record, instead of on personal phone numbers.
###### Agencies & White-Label Resellers

Studios that want a messaging product to sell to their own clients. Rebrand it per client from the console, deploy each one separately, and keep the whole relationship and the whole fee.
###### Government & Regulated Bodies

Organizations that cannot put internal communication on a foreign consumer platform. Self-host it entirely, keep the data in your own jurisdiction, and run it behind your own network controls.

What these operators have in common is not their industry. It is that the conversation is already happening, it matters to them, and right now it is happening somewhere they cannot see, brand, moderate or keep.

Where It Fits

## WhatsApp Clone Use Cases - Community, Enterprise, Education & Resale

The core case the platform was built for. An organization with an active membership brings its conversation in-house: your app, your name, your rules, your group size limit, your moderation queue. Members get the experience they already know, and you get a directory, a dashboard and the ability to remove someone properly rather than just from one group.

The Branded Community Messenger

Staff communication that the business genuinely owns. Messages live on your servers, accounts are created and closed by your operators, the group limit is yours to set, and there is no consumer platform in the middle whose terms can change. Email sign-in suits an internal rollout where SMS costs money and everyone already has a work address.

					[Community · Membership]()

Private Internal Communication

A messenger built for a market the global apps serve as an afterthought. Sixteen languages ship translated with right-to-left handled properly, and adding another is a console task rather than a release. Phone-number sign-in matters here, because in plenty of markets the phone number is the identity and email is not.

					[Enterprise · Internal]()

A Messenger for One Market

Class groups, year groups, staff rooms and parent announcements inside one moderated app, so teachers are not handing out personal phone numbers. Public groups let students find the right group themselves, report reasons are written to match school policy, and an operator can block an account the same day it becomes a problem.

					[Regional · Language]()

Campus and Classroom Communication

An agency deploys the platform separately for each client, rebrands it from the console in an afternoon, and bills the relationship itself. Because branding, languages, limits and integration keys are all configuration, one build serves many clients without a fork per customer and without a code change per brand.

					[Education · Campus]()

White-Label Resale to Your Own Clients

For bodies that cannot put internal communication on a foreign consumer platform at all. The entire stack self-hosts: your servers, your database, your storage, your jurisdiction, behind your own network controls. Calls run device to device, so conversation content does not route through a third-party calling vendor.

					[Agency · Resale]()

Sovereign and Self-Hosted Deployment

What these cases share is that the messaging experience is identical in all of them – people open an app and talk. What differs is who holds the data, who writes the rules and whose name is on it, and those three things are exactly what the platform hands to the operator.

					[Government · Sovereign]()

If your case is not on this list, it is usually still a variation of one of them. The question worth asking is simply where your community currently talks, and what it would change if that place were yours.

The Opportunity

## Why Launch a Branded Messaging Platform in 2026?

Messaging is the most-opened category on every phone on earth, which is precisely why organizations keep finding their own community living inside an app they have no relationship with. The operators changing that are not trying to beat a global messenger at global scale; they are taking one specific audience that already talks constantly and giving that conversation a home they own.

### Frequency Beats Reach

A messaging app is opened dozens of times a day without a notification prompting it. No other category has that habit built in, which is why messaging is the surface everything else eventually gets attached to.

### Calls Do Not Meter

Voice and video connect directly between devices, so conversation volume is not a line on your bill. Products built on a third-party calling vendor get more expensive precisely as they get more successful.

### Communities Are Actively Looking

Group size caps, unmanageable moderation and platform rule changes push organizations to look for somewhere else to put their community. They are already searching; most simply do not know owning it is affordable.

### Language Is an Open Gap

Global messengers translate their interface but do not build for a market. Shipping sixteen languages with proper right-to-left support, and adding more from a console, is a real advantage in regions that get served last.

### Sovereignty Is Now Procurement

Public bodies, regulated industries and large enterprises increasingly cannot put internal communication on a foreign consumer platform. Self-hosting is no longer a preference for these buyers, it is a requirement.

### One Build, Many Brands

Because branding, languages and limits are configuration rather than code, one platform can be deployed repeatedly for different clients or markets. That turns a single purchase into a repeatable line of business.

### Platform by the Numbers

					16Languages Shipped

					12Message Types

					15Dashboard Metrics

					6Days to Deployment

The economics are unusually favourable here compared with most app categories, because the expensive part of a messaging product is not the running cost. Calls connect device to device, so voice and video do not meter. What you pay for is the platform once, and then hosting.

Under the Hood

## WhatsApp Clone Tech Stack - Node.js, Socket.IO, Flutter & MySQL

Conventional and easy to hire for. Node.js and Express on MySQL with Socket.IO for real-time delivery, one Flutter codebase for both mobile apps, a browser client and a React operator console – chosen so that the operating knowledge is common rather than exotic.

					[Node.js]()

#### API & Application Core

**Node.js · Express · Sequelize · MySQL**

- One JSON API serving mobile, web and the operator console
- Three privilege tiers: public, signed-in user, and operator
- Sequelize ORM with parameterized queries throughout
- Runs under PM2 for restarts, clustering and log handling

					[Express]()

#### Real-Time Layer

**Socket.IO**

- Persistent connections rather than polling for new messages
- Several live connections per account, so phone and browser both receive
- Typing indicators, presence and read receipts as events
- Connection registry held in the database, ready for multi-server scaling

					[Socket.IO]()

#### Mobile Applications

**Flutter · Dart**

- One codebase producing both the iPhone and Android builds
- Local caching on the device so the app opens instantly and survives dead spots
- Camera, gallery, voice recording and contact access wired in
- Video compressed and thumbnailed on the phone before upload

					[MySQL]()

#### Calling

**WebRTC · Relay fallback**

- Voice and video connect directly between devices
- A relay server takes over when a restrictive network blocks the direct route
- Call setup signalled over the same real-time connection as messaging
- Every call recorded as missed, accepted or declined, with its duration

#### Data & Media

**MySQL · Typed file storage**

- Nine data domains, from identity and conversations through to moderation and settings
- Uploads sorted into folders by type, with filenames sanitized on the way in
- Media paths stored relative, so moving domain or storage does not rewrite rows
- Scheduled hourly cleanup expires 24-hour stories and finished pins

					[WebRTC]()

#### Operator Console

**React**

- Separate credentials and a separate privilege tier from any user account
- Sixteen interface locales in the console itself, not just in the apps
- Analytics calculated from the live database rather than a separate pipeline
- Integration secrets shown masked, so operators manage keys without seeing them

None of this is unusual, and that is the point. Any competent Node and Flutter team can pick it up, and you are not dependent on us or on a niche framework to keep the platform moving after handover.

How It's Built

## How the WhatsApp Clone Works - Signup, Message, Call & Moderate

A messaging app looks like a list of names from the outside and runs on a tightly sequenced identity, delivery, presence and moderation pipeline underneath. Here is the path from a phone number to a running, moderated community.

### User Journey - From Phone Number to Moderated Community

![WhatsApp Clone mobile profile settings showing the user profile, About status, starred messages, privacy, language, theme and policy options.](https://miracuves.com/wp-content/uploads/elementor/thumbs/settings_screen-rt73v152hevn33wun1yw80v82gv89t373fuwu44wog.webp "WhatsApp Clone Mobile Profile Settings")

##### Signing Up

Someone installs the app and proves they are reachable, before they can do anything else.

- They enter a phone number with its country code, or an email address if you prefer that route
- A one-time code is sent by SMS or email and checked on the server
- A session token is issued and stored, and the device is registered so notifications can reach it
- They choose a name, an avatar and a language, and accept your privacy policy and terms

##### Finding People

An empty messenger is useless, so the first job after signup is populating it.

- Contacts already on the phone are synced and matched against your user base, if you have that flow switched on
- They see immediately which of their contacts are already here and which are not
- They can save their own name for a contact, independent of what that person calls themselves
- People outside the address book can be found by name or number, and public groups can be browsed and joined

##### Sending a Message

The core loop, and the one that has to feel instant every single time.

- The conversation is created automatically on the first message, whether one-to-one or a group
- The message is stored, then pushed over the live connection to every device the recipient has open
- If nobody is connected, a push notification goes out naming the sender and what arrived
- Ticks update as it is delivered and read, and the typing indicator fires while the reply is being written

##### Sharing and Reacting

Conversation is more than text, so the media and interaction layer sits on the same delivery path.

- Photos, videos, voice notes, documents, GIFs, a location pin or a contact card, each routed to its own storage folder
- Video is compressed and given a thumbnail on the phone before it uploads, so sending stays quick on a weak connection
- Replies point at a specific message, forwards carry the media with them, and reactions and polls attach to the message itself
- Starring, pinning, archiving and per-conversation locks are all recorded per person, so your actions never change what anyone else sees

##### Calling and Stories

The two features people assume are hard, both included and both running on infrastructure you own.

- A call creates a room, rings every device the other person has, and connects the two devices directly
- A relay server steps in only when a restrictive network blocks the direct route
- Every call is written to history as missed, accepted or declined, with its duration
- Stories hold several photos or videos with captions, record who viewed them, and are removed automatically after 24 hours

##### Moderating and Measuring

Where the operator comes in, and the part most messaging builds leave until after the first incident.

- Users block each other, and blocking is enforced on messages and calls alike from that moment forward
- Reports arrive in the console with the reporter, the account, the reason and the conversation attached
- Operators block a user or an entire group, and mark records as reviewed so two moderators do not duplicate work
- The dashboard reports signups, active users, groups and call volume, so growth is measured rather than guessed

Each stage below is a real part of the build rather than an idealised flow, and every one of them is visible in the two demo accounts at the top of this page.

How It's Built

## WhatsApp Clone Platform Architecture & Real-Time Flow

### One API, Four Clients

A single Node.js application owns every rule, and the iPhone app, Android app, browser client and operator console are presentation layers over one API. One deploy, one schema, one set of rules - which is what stops four clients drifting apart.

### The Conversation Is the Spine

One-to-one chats and groups are the same object with a flag, so delivery, permissions, moderation and retention all work identically for both. Nothing has to be built twice, and nothing behaves differently in a group by accident.

### Your Actions Never Change Mine

Starring, pinning, archiving, clearing and delete-for-me are stored against you, not against the message. That is why you can clear a conversation without erasing it for the person you were talking to.

### Presence Lives in the Database

Live connections and typing state are recorded in the database rather than held in one server's memory. That is the groundwork that lets the real-time layer grow onto several servers when the user base needs it.

### Media Paths Stay Relative

Uploads are stored as relative paths and turned into full URLs when read. Moving to a new domain, or moving media onto object storage later, does not require rewriting existing rows.

### Cleanup Runs on a Schedule

An hourly job removes stories past 24 hours and pins that have reached their expiry. Ephemeral content actually disappears rather than accumulating quietly in the database for years.

Performance Targets

## Built to Scale - Real-Time Connections, Media Growth & Multi-Server

The topology is intentionally ordinary: a Node.js application behind a web server, MySQL as the system of record, file storage for media, and a scheduled job for the recurring cleanup. Nothing here needs a specialist to operate, and nothing exotic has to be running before you can take your first thousand users.

### Messages and Media Outgrow Everything Else

On a messaging platform the fastest-growing thing is not the user table, it is the message table and the media folder beside it. Every conversation writes rows continuously, and every photo, video and voice note lands on disk. The two levers that matter are indexes on the columns that messages are actually fetched by, and a plan for moving media onto object storage before the disk becomes the constraint. Both are ordinary operations work, and both are far cheaper to do early than to retrofit.

Real-time connections are the second consideration. A single server handles a great many concurrent sockets comfortably, and because connection state is written to the database rather than held in memory, growing onto several servers is an adapter and a load balancer rather than a redesign.

The database is the natural scale boundary, as it is for any application of this shape. Connection pooling is in place, and the usual practices apply as volume grows: secondary indexes on the columns used for lookups, read replicas for the heavier dashboard queries, and a retention policy for media you no longer need to keep.

Calling deliberately does not scale with your bill. Because voice and video connect directly between devices, call volume consumes almost no server bandwidth. The relay server only carries the minority of calls where a restrictive network blocks the direct route.

### Real-Time Connections

Persistent sockets rather than polling, with connection state written to the database so several application servers can share the load behind a balancer when the time comes.

### Message Table Growth

The tables that grow fastest are the conversation tables. Secondary indexes on the columns messages are fetched by are the single highest-value tuning step, and they are cheap when done early.

### Media on Object Storage

Media is stored as relative paths, so moving the upload root onto S3-compatible storage is a configuration change rather than a migration that rewrites every existing row.

### Calls Off the Critical Path

Voice and video traffic flows between devices instead of through your servers, so a busy calling day costs you bandwidth you never paid for in the first place.

### Scheduled Cleanup

Story and pin expiry run hourly on a schedule. On a multi-server deployment the job is pinned to one instance so the same cleanup never runs twice.

### Process Management

The application runs under PM2 for automatic restarts, clustering across CPU cores and log handling, which is the baseline reliability story before any additional infrastructure.

None of this is required on day one. A single modest server runs the whole platform for a launch community, and each step above is taken when a real number tells you to take it, not in anticipation.

We size the initial deployment with you during handover and document exactly which measurement should trigger which step, so the scaling plan belongs to your team rather than living in our heads.

Security Posture

## WhatsApp Clone Security & Platform Trust

A messaging platform holds identities, conversations and media, so the security posture here is documented rather than asserted. Messages are end-to-end encrypted, call media is encrypted by the WebRTC stack as standard, and the platform ships with a developer and security handbook plus a VAPT compliance reference – both candid about what is implemented in the code and what is your work at deployment.

Documented, Not Asserted

A developer and security handbook plus a VAPT compliance reference ship with the build, mapped against the OWASP Top 10 and explicit about which controls are code and which are deployment configuration.
What Is Your Work, Not Ours

TLS at your reverse proxy, secrets in a vault, global rate limiting and a WAF, upload size and type limits, database backups with a tested restore, log aggregation, and operator console access restricted by network or additional factor. These are named openly in the handbook rather than implied to be handled.
End-to-End Encrypted Messaging

Conversations are encrypted on the sending device and decrypted on the receiving one, so what your servers hold and relay is ciphertext rather than readable message text. Call media is encrypted by the WebRTC stack as standard. Encryption is configured as part of delivery, not sold back to you afterwards as a module.

### Authentication

Sign-in is by one-time code to a phone or email, so there is no user password database to steal in the first place. Operator passwords are hashed with bcrypt, and sessions are signed tokens that cannot be edited without breaking the signature.

### Who Can Do What

The API is split into three tiers - public, signed-in user, and operator - with separate credentials for operators. Who you are is taken from your session token, never from a field in the request, which is what stops one account acting as another.

### Conversation Access

You can only read a conversation you are a member of, and group admin rights are held on the membership record rather than on the conversation. Blocking is enforced on messages and calls from the moment it is set.

### Database Safety

All database access goes through an ORM that parameterizes queries, which structurally removes SQL injection rather than relying on each developer remembering to escape input. Message content sits in that database as ciphertext, so a database compromise does not hand an attacker readable conversations.

### Upload Handling

Files are routed to a folder by type and their filenames sanitized on the way in, so an upload cannot escape into a path it should not reach. Replacing a profile photo deletes the old file rather than leaving it behind.

### Secrets Stay Server-Side

Your SMS, push, maps and email credentials live in server configuration and are shown masked in the console, so an operator can manage integrations without ever being able to read the key.

We would rather tell you plainly where the line sits than let you find it during your own penetration test. The cards below describe what is in the platform; the items after them separate what we deliver from what belongs to your infrastructure team.

Go Further

## WhatsApp Clone Add-Ons - Payments, Key Recovery, Hardening & Enterprise

Scoped work that sits outside the base build, quoted separately and named plainly rather than implied as included. A fixed price only means something if the boundary around it is stated, so this is that boundary. None of it is a gap in the platform – each item is a deliberate decision about what belongs in a base messaging build and what is specific enough to your market to be worth doing properly rather than approximately.

### The Pre-Launch Hardening Pass

TLS termination, global rate limiting, upload size and type restrictions, secret vaulting, security headers, operator console access restrictions and a tested backup restore. Scoped work we complete with you before the platform faces the public.

					[Security · Pre-Launch Gate]()

### Encrypted Backup & Key Recovery

End-to-end encryption is delivered with the platform. What sits outside it is the operational layer around the keys: encrypted chat backup and restore across a device change, and a recovery path for a user who loses their phone. Both are worth scoping deliberately, because a badly designed recovery route quietly undoes the encryption it sits behind.

					[Privacy · Key Recovery]()

### Payments & Subscriptions

No payment processing or subscription billing ships in the base build, because a messaging platform does not need one and the right provider depends entirely on your market. If you want paid tiers, in-app purchases or peer-to-peer transfers, that is an integration against your own merchant accounts.

					[Payments · Monetization]()

### Enterprise Sign-On

Phone, email and social sign-in ship. Corporate single sign-on, directory synchronization and automated account provisioning and deprovisioning are the additions that internal enterprise rollouts usually need, and they are scoped against your identity provider.

					[Identity · Enterprise SSO]()

### Multi-Server Real-Time

The connection registry is already in the database, which is the hard part. Wiring a real-time adapter so several application servers fan out messages between themselves is scoped work we do when your concurrency genuinely calls for it.

					[Scale · Multi-Server]()

### Object Storage Migration

Media stores as relative paths, so moving the upload root onto S3-compatible storage with signed URLs and a CDN in front is straightforward. Worth doing before disk becomes the constraint rather than after.

					[Storage · Object Storage]()

### Immutable Audit Logging

The build records reports, operator review state and timestamps on every row, which is a reasonable audit baseline. Append-only audit logging and forwarding into a SIEM are additions for regulated buyers who have to prove what happened.

					[Audit · Compliance]()

### Bots, Automation & Integrations

The API and the real-time events make automation straightforward - broadcast bots, CRM hooks, ticketing integrations, scheduled announcements. Outbound webhooks are not in the base build and are added as scoped work.

The Commercial Case

## Marketability, Revenue Potential & Business Prospects

Messaging economics are unusual, and it is worth being straight about how. A messenger does not monetize itself the way a marketplace does: there is no commission on a conversation and no take rate on a phone call. What a messaging platform produces is attention and dependency – people open it many times a day and their relationships live inside it – and the operators who do well are the ones who know what that attention is worth to them specifically.

### Resale & White-Label

Deploy separately per client, rebrand each from the console in an afternoon, and bill the relationship yourself. One purchase becomes a repeatable line of business rather than a single project.

### Membership & Access

Where the community itself is the product, access to it is the thing worth paying for. Requires a payment integration on top, which is scoped work rather than a base-build feature.

### Retention for an Existing Business

Attach the messenger to a business you already operate so customers, members or staff have a reason to stay inside your app. The return shows up in the parent business, not in the messenger.

### Costs That Do Not Scale

No licence fee, no revenue share, no per-message charge and no per-minute calling bill. Growth costs you hosting, which is the rarest and most valuable property in this category.

How does a messaging platform actually make money?

Usually not directly. For most operators the value is control and retention: the community is yours, the data is yours, the rules are yours, and members cannot be taken away by a platform policy change. Where there is direct revenue it tends to come from reselling deployments to your own clients, charging for access to the community, or using the messenger to hold on to customers of a business you already run. Advertising is possible but needs real scale before it is meaningful.

What does it cost to run once it is live?

Hosting and your third-party accounts, and very little else. A server, a MySQL database, storage for media, and whatever your SMS provider charges for one-time codes at signup – which is the one cost that scales with new users, and the reason email sign-in is worth enabling for internal or corporate rollouts. Calls do not meter, because they connect between devices rather than through your servers.

Example Revenue Scenarios

For most buyers the return is not advertising revenue. It is that the community, the members and the data are theirs, that a group is no longer capped by someone else’s limit, that a bad actor can actually be removed, and that the organization is not one policy change away from losing its own audience. Where direct revenue does appear it comes from reselling deployments, charging for access to the community itself, or attaching the messenger to a business you already run so it holds on to customers who make money elsewhere.

Single Community Launch

1
Organization Live

One membership brought in-house, on one deployment.

An association or club moving its existing group chat onto its own app: phone-number signup, groups with a size limit it sets itself, its own report reasons behind the moderation queue, and a dashboard that finally shows who is actually active. No payment integration, because nothing is being sold yet.

Enterprise Rollout

16
Languages Available

Internal communication the business genuinely owns.

A company running staff communication on its own infrastructure with email sign-in rather than SMS, so signup costs nothing per user. Accounts opened and closed by its own operators, messages inside its own jurisdiction, and the interface switched to whichever of the sixteen languages each office actually works in.

White-Label Portfolio

4
Surfaces Per Client

One platform, redeployed and rebranded per customer.

An agency standing the platform up separately for each client and rebranding it from the console in an afternoon. Every client gets all four surfaces – iPhone, Android, browser and console – under their own name, with no fork per customer and no revenue share flowing back to us.

Why Miracuves

## Miracuves vs Other WhatsApp Clone Developers

There are many ways to get a messaging app: generic scripts, freelancers, agencies, or owning the platform outright.

##### The difference shows up on the day someone has to be removed, not on the demo.

### Moderation Ships, It Is Not Quoted

Reporting, blocking, an operator-managed list of report reasons and review queues for both users and groups all arrive built. Elsewhere these turn up as a change request after launch, usually the week after the first serious incident.

### Four Surfaces, Not One Skinned Twice

iPhone, Android, browser and an operator console, all in step because they share one API. A messaging product that only ships a phone app leaves every desk-bound user and every operator without a way in.

### Calling Included, Not Rented

Voice and video are in the build and connect between devices. Many competing scripts either omit calling or wire it to a third-party vendor that charges per minute forever, which quietly makes your success expensive.

### Sixteen Languages, Already Translated

Not a language file waiting for you to fill in. Sixteen locales ship translated with right-to-left handled properly, and the seventeenth is added from the console rather than in a release.

### Encryption Is Not an Upsell

End-to-end encrypted messaging is part of what we deliver, not a premium module quoted once you are committed. Plenty of competing scripts either omit it entirely or price it as the upgrade that makes the cheap headline figure work.

### The Source Code Is Actually Yours

Full source, no licence conditions, no revenue share and no dependency on us afterwards. Built on Node and Flutter specifically so any competent team can take it forward without us.

A demo proves messages arrive. What separates platforms is everything that has to be true on day ninety: moderation that works, a second language, an operator who is not a developer, and a bill that has not grown with your call volume.

Industries

## Industries We Serve

The WhatsApp Clone suits any operator whose audience already talks to each other. Membership organizations use the full stack from groups through moderation. Enterprises lean on private hosting and account control. Education uses class groups and public group discovery. Regional operators use the language engine. Agencies redeploy it per client. Public bodies self-host it entirely for data residency.

## WhatsApp Clone FAQ - Pricing, Calling, Encryption & Deployment

Everything you need to know about the Miracuves WhatsApp Clone.

What is a WhatsApp Clone app?

A ready-made messaging platform you brand as your own. Users sign up with a phone number and a one-time code, find their contacts, and start one-to-one and group conversations with photos, videos, voice notes, documents, location and contact sharing. Voice and video calling, 24-hour stories, polls, reactions, read receipts and typing indicators are all included, and you run the whole thing from an operator console with fifteen dashboard metrics and moderation queues. It ships as an iPhone app, an Android app, a browser client and the console, in sixteen languages.

How much does it cost, and is there anything ongoing?

The platform is $3,399 as a one-time price and that includes the full source code, all four surfaces, sixteen languages, deployment onto your infrastructure and the documentation set. There is no licence fee, no revenue share and no per-message or per-minute charge. Ongoing cost is your own hosting plus whatever your SMS provider charges for one-time codes at signup – which is why email sign-in is worth enabling for internal rollouts where everyone already has a work address.

                Is it end-to-end encrypted?

Yes. Messages are encrypted on the sending device and decrypted on the receiving device, so what travels across the network and sits in your database is ciphertext rather than readable text. Voice and video call media is encrypted by the WebRTC stack as standard. Combined with self-hosting, that puts you in a materially stronger position than a consumer app: the conversations are unreadable in transit and at rest, and the infrastructure holding them is yours rather than a third party’s. Encryption is configured as part of delivery and is not a paid upgrade.

Do voice and video calls cost me anything per minute?

No. Calls connect directly between the two devices using WebRTC, so the conversation does not pass through your servers and there is no calling vendor metering it. A relay server handles the minority of calls where a restrictive network blocks the direct route, and that is the only calling infrastructure with a running cost. This is a meaningful difference from platforms that wire calling to a third-party service, where your bill grows precisely as the product succeeds.

How long does it take to go live?

Standard delivery is six working days from kickoff to a running deployment, assuming your infrastructure and your third-party accounts are ready. What usually sets the real date is not our work but yours: an Apple developer account and App Store review, a Google Play account, an SMS provider approved for your country, and your branding assets. We list all of that at kickoff so nothing surprises you in week two.

Can I really rebrand it without a developer?

Yes, for everything that matters commercially. Your app and website name, primary and secondary colours, light and dark logos, favicon, banner, copyright line, store links, privacy policy and terms links, sign-in methods, group size limit and the whole language set are all forms in the operator console. Deeper visual changes – a different layout, new screens, a redesigned navigation – are code, and we quote those as customization.

How does the sixteen-language support actually work?

Sixteen locales ship already translated: Arabic, Danish, German, Greek, English, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Turkish and Chinese. Right-to-left layouts are handled properly rather than mirrored badly. You enable the ones you want, pick a default, and edit any individual piece of wording in the console. Adding a seventeenth language is a console task, and because the apps read their wording from the server, changing it does not need an app-store resubmission.

What moderation tools do I get?

Users can block each other, which is enforced on messages and calls from that moment, and can report a person or a group choosing from a list of reasons that you write. Reports land in the operator console with the reporter, the account, the reason and the conversation attached. You can block a single user or an entire group, and records are marked as reviewed so two moderators do not work the same report. There is also a per-conversation password lock that users can set on a sensitive chat.

Can one person be signed in on their phone and their laptop at once?

Yes. An account can hold several live connections at the same time, and a message is delivered to all of them together. Read it on the laptop and the phone updates rather than showing it as unread for the rest of the day. This is a real architectural property rather than a sync trick, which is why it behaves consistently across messages, typing indicators and incoming calls.

Do I own the source code, and can I resell it?

You get the complete source code – the Node.js API, the Flutter mobile app, the browser client and the operator console – with no licence conditions attached. You can change it, rebrand it, host it anywhere, hand it to another development team, or deploy it repeatedly for your own clients. We take nothing from what you earn with it and there is no dependency on us after handover, which is precisely why it is built on ordinary Node and Flutter rather than anything exotic.

Does it handle payments or subscriptions?

Not in the base build, and that is deliberate rather than an omission. A messaging platform does not need payment processing to work, and the right provider depends entirely on your market and your merchant accounts. If your model charges members for access, sells tiers, or moves money between users, that is a payment integration scoped on top of the platform and quoted separately. It is named in the add-ons section above for exactly this reason.

How many users can it handle?

A single modest server comfortably runs a launch community, and the architecture is built so growth is ordinary operations work rather than a rewrite. Live connection state is kept in the database rather than one server’s memory, so expanding onto several servers is a real-time adapter and a load balancer. The database is the natural boundary, addressed with the usual practices – indexes on the columns messages are fetched by, read replicas for heavy dashboard queries, and moving media onto object storage before disk becomes the constraint. We size the first deployment with you and document which measurement should trigger which step.

  /* MIRACUVES - TRADEMARK / NON-AFFILIATION NOTICE (v3).
Scoped under .mcv-tmn so it cannot collide with the hub connector (mcv-hubx-, mcv-hubxa-)
or any block above it. Always the last block on the page, immediately before the footer.
Structure is deliberate: one plain-language lead people actually read, then the three
supporting positions split out so each is scannable rather than buried in a paragraph.
Fonts are declared but not loaded: pages carrying the connector already have them, and the
fallbacks are deliberate so this block never adds a render-blocking request. */
