In short

Miracuves is an Android app development company that builds native apps in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for founders and product teams whose users are mostly on Android - driver and field apps, fintech, Wear OS companions. A ready-made platform with iOS and Android apps and an admin panel ships in 6 working days; custom Android work takes 2-8 weeks. You own 100% of the source code.

Our Android Approach

How Miracuves delivers Android apps - from 9,000+ projects of real experience

Across 9,000+ projects and 3,900+ published apps, Miracuves has learned when Android deserves its own native build and when it does not. Most readymade clones ship on Flutter by default. We move to Kotlin when the product needs what Flutter reaches only through plugins: long-running WorkManager jobs in a foreground service, Play Feature Delivery modules, a Wear OS companion, or an Android-only logistics app whose offline-first Room database has to keep syncing on the road - built natively, not as a cross-platform compromise.

Writing the app in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose gives it Material 3 components, calls Android SDK APIs directly with no bridge layer in between, and keeps Play Store compliance work inside one toolchain. At Miracuves an Android-only product is scoped as exactly that - one Gradle repository, the signing keys handed over with their documentation, and full source ownership on delivery day.

Who this service is built for: Founders and product leads whose users are mostly or only on Android - field-worker and technician apps, driver and delivery logistics, Wear OS companions, fintech apps that depend on biometric login and Play Integrity checks, and any product that needs background GPS to keep running through a Foreground Service. Choose Miracuves for Android when you want a Kotlin build delivered by a company, with published pricing and full IP transfer, rather than staffing or hourly contracts. If a Flutter-first clone would get you to market faster and the app needs no native Android depth, we recommend our Flutter service instead.

  • Every screen built in Compose with Material 3, with adaptive layouts checked on Samsung, Pixel and OnePlus phones before release
  • MVVM + Hilt + ViewModel enforced: predictable state, testable Kotlin from day one
  • Background GPS through a Foreground Service with Fused Location, and WorkManager to finish the sync even after the system kills the app
  • Gradle builds in CI on GitHub Actions or Bitrise, producing a signed AAB from the very first merge to main
  • Google Play release handled by us end to end: Play App Signing, the Data safety form and the target API level check

Native Kotlin is our choice when the Android app needs Wear OS, complex background services, Play Feature Delivery or deep OEM-specific customization, and we tell you which of the two fits before kickoff.

Technology Comparison

Android vs iOS vs Cross-Platform - which is right for your project?

Whether to build natively for Android, natively for iOS or once for both is the first decision on any mobile project, and an agency that knows only one stack will always give the same answer. Miracuves builds all three, so the answer depends on your users and your features - and it decides long-term cost, performance and maintenance. See how native compilation compares with hybrid frameworks.

Android guide

What to know before you hire an Android app development company

The questions founders ask us before they sign an Android project, answered for Android specifically - where native Kotlin pays off, what Google Play demands, and what the app costs to keep alive.

What does an Android app development company actually deliver?

An Android app is more than its screens. A company-delivered build also settles the decisions that decide how the app behaves on real phones: Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for the UI, how data syncs when the network drops, how background work survives battery savers, and how releases are signed and published.

At Miracuves the handoff is the Gradle project with its full commit history, a CI pipeline that produces a signed Android App Bundle (AAB), the backend and admin panel the app talks to, the Google Play listing and Data safety form, and documentation for signing and releases. Google Play has required the AAB format for new apps since August 2021, so an agency that still hands you a loose APK is behind.

Native Android in Kotlin or cross-platform - which should you choose?

Choose native Android when the product depends on Android-specific behavior. Cross-platform is the better buy when you need both stores on one budget and the app is mostly screens, lists, forms and payments.

  • Native Kotlin: driver and field apps that must keep GPS running with the screen off, on phones with aggressive battery savers.
  • Native Kotlin: Wear OS companions, or deep use of Android system features such as home-screen widgets, Bluetooth LE and NFC.
  • Native Kotlin: markets where nearly all of your users carry Android phones and an iOS app can wait.
  • Cross-platform: marketplaces, booking and delivery apps that need iOS and Android together - most Miracuves ready-made platforms ship this way, on Flutter.

How much does custom Android app development cost, and how long does it take?

The price follows the route. A ready-made platform from our catalogue ships in 6 working days at a fixed catalogue price, with iOS and Android apps and an admin panel. A Kotlin port of that platform, when native behavior justifies it, is custom work from $3,699 and takes 2-8 weeks. A custom Android MVP built to your own specification typically runs $10,000-$32,000: about 2 weeks for simple to moderate scope, 4-8 weeks when complexity is real.

On Android the budget moves with a handful of specific things: background location, an offline Room database that must sync, a Wear OS companion, payment and UPI SDKs, multi-language support, and the number of OEM devices in the test matrix.

Why do Android apps fail on some phones but not on others?

Android runs on phones from many manufacturers, and several of them add their own battery management on top of Google's. Aggressive task killers on some Xiaomi, Samsung, Oppo and Vivo models stop background work that runs fine on a Pixel - which is why driver apps lose GPS overnight and chat apps miss messages.

Miracuves designs for this from the first sprint. Live tracking runs as a foreground service with a declared service type, which Android 14 made mandatory. Deferred sync runs through WorkManager, so it retries after the app is killed. Every release build is tested on physical phones from the brands your users actually carry, including budget models, not only on emulators.

What does Google Play require before an Android app can go live?

Publishing is a piece of work in its own right, and it is where first-time founders lose the most calendar time. Before the first release, the app needs:

  • A Google Play developer account with verified identity. A new personal account must also run a closed test for at least 14 days before it can publish to production.
  • An Android App Bundle, signed through Play App Signing.
  • A target API level that meets Google's requirement, which moves up every year.
  • A Data safety form that matches what the app and its SDKs actually collect.
  • Declarations for sensitive permissions such as background location and foreground service types.

What does an Android app cost to keep running after launch?

Android maintenance has a yearly rhythm. Google raises the minimum target API level for new apps and updates every year; an app that falls behind cannot ship updates, and Google stops offering it to new users on newer Android versions. A target SDK upgrade and a round of regression testing therefore belong in every annual budget, alongside smaller work for Play policy changes and updates to Kotlin, Compose and the Android Gradle Plugin.

Running costs are usually modest. Firebase Cloud Messaging and Crashlytics are free, and registering the developer account is a one-time $25 fee. The real monthly lines are backend hosting and paid APIs such as Google Maps route or places lookups. Every delivery includes 60 days of support; after that, the Ongoing Android Development retainer starts from $2,299/month.

Should you hire Android developers or an Android app development company?

Hiring Kotlin developers directly works when you already have an Android lead who can set the module structure, review every pull request and own the Play Console. Without that person, the usual result is an app that works on the developer's own phone and fails across the device matrix.

With Miracuves you contract with the company, not with individual developers: a Kotlin engineer, a backend engineer, QA and a project manager work to a written scope, with a working build demoed every week. Miracuves does not rent individual developers by the hour.

Technical Architecture

How Miracuves engineers structure Android projects for production

Below are the decisions our Android engineers settle before the first screen is written - the ones that decide whether a Kotlin codebase stays easy to extend or turns into Fragment spaghetti that someone eventually has to rewrite.

  • 01

Architecture - Feature Modules + Clean Layers

Layers run Presentation (Compose) → Domain → Data, and each Gradle feature module carries its own screens, ViewModels, repository interfaces and DTOs. That separation is why Miracuves can add a new logistics module in days without touching trip sync or the auth flow.

  • 02

State - ViewModel + Hilt + Kotlin Flow

Each ViewModel exposes a single UiState as StateFlow, and Hilt injects the repositories behind it. Business logic never sits inside a Composable without tests - it is the most common problem we find in Android apps inherited from rushed agencies, and we fix it on day one.

  • 03

Performance - Compose Stability and Coroutine Dispatchers

Composables on hot paths take stable parameters and use remember keys to avoid needless recomposition; disk and network work runs on Dispatchers.IO and only UI updates run on Main. Release builds are profiled with the Android Studio Profiler on physical OEM phones - a debug build's numbers are never accepted as final.

What most Android agencies get wrong

Debug APKs shipped to testers as if they were releases. No signed AAB pipeline. God-Activities with all the logic in onCreate. API keys in BuildConfig, committed to git. No check of the Play target API level before submitting. We have taken over Android apps with every one of these problems, and building it right from the start costs less than cleaning it up later.

LocationTrackingService.kt - Foreground Service
// Foreground service for fleet GPS - logistics driver appsclass LocationTrackingService : Service() {              private val scope = CoroutineScope(Dispatchers.IO)              override fun onStartCommand(intent: Intent?, flags: Int, startId: Int): Int {              startForeground(NOTIF_ID, buildNotification())              scope.launch {              fusedClient.requestLocationUpdates(locationCallback, Looper.getMainLooper())              }              return START_STICKY              }              }
The service runs in the foreground with Fused Location, so tracking survives the process kills that aggressive OEM battery savers trigger. We use this pattern in Miracuves Kotlin logistics and driver apps for Android.

Quality Standards

How Miracuves ensures every Android delivery meets production standard

No Android build reaches handoff without clearing Miracuves' quality gates. They are not a checklist we tick at the end; they are the delivery standard every Kotlin codebase we ship is held to.

  • Clean architecture - Presentation / Domain / Data separatedArchitecture
  • MVVM with Hilt - business logic kept out of Composables and under testState
  • Signed AAB release builds - profiled on physical phones from several OEMsPerformance
  • Physical device QA - tested on real Android phones across OEM skinsQA

Enforced QA Gates

Our 6 Continuous Delivery Gateways

Every line of Kotlin, every asset and every build profile has to clear all six quality control gates before the repository is handed over.

01

Code Review on Every Pull Request

A senior Miracuves Android engineer reviews every pull request before it merges into your main branch. Code without tests does not reach your production environment, whatever the deadline.

02

Automated Test Coverage Required

JUnit unit tests cover business logic, Compose UI tests cover screens and components, and integration tests cover the critical user flows. A minimum coverage level is enforced before any release build is created.

03

Release Builds Profiled - Not Debug Builds

Every release build is profiled with the Android Studio Profiler for startup time, memory and dropped frames. A debug APK runs differently from what users install, so its performance is never accepted as proof.

04

Handoff Package - Not Just a Repository

Every handoff includes the Gradle project and its documentation, an environment setup guide, API documentation, deployment credentials, store credentials, the signing documentation and a post-launch runbook.

05

App Store Submission - Full Compliance Managed

Miracuves handles Play App Signing and the upload key, the store listing, screenshot assets, the Data safety form, target API and policy checks, and Google Play review - plus provisioning profiles, signing certificates and App Store review when the product also ships on iOS.

06

Post-Launch Monitoring - 60-Day Active Support

Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics are configured before launch, alongside Android vitals in the Play Console. During the 60-day post-launch support window Miracuves watches crash and ANR rates and acts on them before your users report them.

Our Process

From brief to deployed Android app - what happens and when

Whether the Android app starts from a readymade clone or from your own specification, delivery runs on the same five steps. At each one you know what Miracuves is working on, what we need from you and what you receive. The timelines below are for our standard clone sprint; custom Kotlin builds are billed by milestone and pass the same checkpoints.

  1. Step 01

    Brief & NDA

Share your concept on WhatsApp and we sign the NDA the same day, then ask 6 specific questions.

  2. Step 02

    Scope & Plan

We confirm the solution base, native or cross-platform stack, and service model. No payment until the scope is agreed.

  3. Step 03

    Build & Demo

Gradle repo created and architecture set, first commit within 24h, and a working build demoed every week.

  4. Step 04

    QA & Polish

Tested on real Android phones, and on iOS devices when the product ships there too, with builds checked against store guidelines.

  5. Step 05

    Launch & Handoff

Full code and docs handed over, store submissions handled (Google Play, plus the App Store when you ship iOS), then 60 days of active support.

Why Miracuves publishes pricesFounders who know the cost upfront make better product decisions. If your Android project needs a larger budget - for a Wear OS companion or a long OEM test matrix, say - Miracuves explains exactly why before anything changes, rather than simply charging more.

What affects Android project cost at Miracuves

Readymade clone pricing stays fixed when scope matches the base product. Custom Android builds scale with: Foreground Service complexity, offline Room schema size, Wear OS companion scope, Play Feature Delivery modules, payment and UPI SDK integrations, multi-language rollout, OEM-specific QA matrix, and whether we port from a Flutter clone base or build greenfield in Kotlin.

Typical Android budget ranges

  • Kotlin clone port (when justified)from $3,699custom work, 2-8 weeks, scope-dependent
  • Custom Android MVP$10,000-$32,000about 2 weeks for simple to moderate scope, 4-8 weeks when complexity is real
  • Ongoing retainerfrom $2,299/month for feature work and maintenance

What a real Android project looks like at Miracuves

An India-based logistics SaaS founder needed a driver Android app with offline-first trip capture, background GPS for fleet managers, proof-of-delivery photos, and Hindi/English UI - within 8 weeks before their first enterprise pilot with a regional 3PL.

  1. 01

    The Challenge

Greenfield Kotlin build - no reliable cross-platform option for aggressive OEM battery policies on budget driver phones. Offline Room queue, WorkManager sync, Foreground Service GPS, and Jetpack Compose UI scoped to 8 weeks.

  2. 02

    What Miracuves Delivered

Structured feature modules, Navigation Compose, Hilt-injected repositories, encrypted Room for offline stops, and Fused Location in a Foreground Service - honest note: fastest white-label ride catalog is Flutter; Kotlin was chosen for GPS reliability on Indian OEM devices.

  3. 03

Frequently Asked

Questions about Android development at Miracuves

Something not covered here? Ask on WhatsApp and you will usually have an answer within two hours.

Ask us directly
Does Miracuves build Android apps with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose?

Yes. Kotlin with Jetpack Compose and Material 3 is our default for production Android apps, with MVVM, Hilt, Room and WorkManager on custom builds. Release builds are tested on Samsung, Pixel and other popular OEM skins before the Play Store handoff.

How much does Android app development cost at Miracuves?

A ready-made platform with iOS and Android apps and an admin panel starts from $2,199, ships in 6 working days and keeps that fixed price when the scope matches the base product. A Kotlin port of a readymade clone, when justified, is custom work from $3,699, takes 2-8 weeks and is scope-dependent. A custom Android MVP typically runs $10,000-$32,000: about 2 weeks for simple to moderate scope, 4-8 weeks when complexity is real. Ongoing development is available from $2,299/month for feature work and maintenance. Every quote is written before payment, with no surprise invoices after kickoff.

Does Miracuves deliver the full source code?

Yes - completely. You receive the full Kotlin Gradle project, the signing documentation, the repository with its complete commit history, environment configuration, API documentation and every deployment credential. There is zero lock-in: your own Android team, or any other development company, can carry on with the work as soon as the handoff is complete.

How fast can a native Android app realistically be delivered?

It depends on scope, and Miracuves will tell you honestly on the first call. A ready-made platform from our catalogue ships under your brand in 6 working days, with its iOS and Android apps and admin panel; a Kotlin port of it is custom work from $3,699, delivered in 2-8 weeks. A custom Android build from scratch takes about two weeks for simple to moderate scope - not merely started, but brought to a working, demoable level. Genuinely complex work runs four to eight weeks: offline sync, background services, Wear OS companions, heavy third-party integrations. Nothing built from scratch ships in under two weeks, and we will not pretend otherwise. Your timeline is scoped on the call and stated in writing before any payment.

Native Android vs Flutter - which does Miracuves recommend?

Most Miracuves readymade clones ship on Flutter for speed, and for a product that needs both stores that is usually the right call. Native Kotlin earns its cost when you need Wear OS, complex background GPS, Play Feature Delivery or an Android-only scope. We tell you which fits before kickoff and do not upsell the wrong stack.

What is included in the admin panel with every delivery?

The admin panel is a separate web application that opens in any browser. It covers user management, order and booking management, an analytics dashboard, content control, payout and commission management, and platform configuration - the same console whether your users are on Android, iOS or both.

Does Miracuves handle App Store and Google Play submission?

Yes, as part of every delivery engagement. For Google Play, Miracuves manages Play App Signing, the store listing, screenshot assets, the Data safety form and policy checks; when the product also ships on iOS, we handle provisioning profiles, signing certificates and App Store review coordination too. Review times are set by Apple and Google, not by us, and vary by app and account; a new personal Google Play developer account must also run a closed test for at least 14 days before it can publish to production.

What happens after the app is delivered if there are bugs?

Each Miracuves delivery comes with 60 days of post-launch technical support, and any bug within the delivered scope is fixed at no additional cost - including crashes that show up only on a particular Android device. Features beyond the agreed scope are quoted separately, and monthly maintenance retainers are available at published rates.

How does Miracuves handle NDA and confidentiality?

A bilateral NDA is signed before you share any project details, and it covers every technical detail, your business logic and your IP. The IP assignment agreement, which transfers 100% ownership to you, is signed at the start of the project rather than at the end.

Can Miracuves take over or modernize an existing Android app?

Yes. We start with a written audit of the existing project: the Kotlin or Java code, the Gradle setup, the signing keys and your Play Console access. The plan that follows usually moves screens to Jetpack Compose one feature at a time and converts Java to Kotlin as each area is touched, rather than a risky full rewrite. As long as you control the Play Console account and the app is enrolled in Play App Signing or you still hold its signing key, the app keeps its listing, reviews and installed users through the change. The work is quoted as custom Android development before it starts.

Which Android versions and devices will my app support?

We agree the minimum Android version with you at scoping, based on who your users are rather than a default. A lower minimum reaches more budget phones but needs more compatibility work and testing; a higher one lets the app use newer platform features with less code. Whatever the minimum, the app targets the API level Google Play currently requires, adapts its layout to phones, foldables and tablets, and is tested on physical devices from the manufacturers your users actually buy.
