The Basics

What Is a Zerodha Clone App?

A Zerodha Clone is a ready-made, white-label trading platform that recreates the core experience of India’s leading discount broker – order placement, live market data, portfolio tracking, watchlists and charting – while adding capabilities that most single-broker applications never offer. It is a working product foundation rather than a template or a UI kit.

Laptop, tablet, and phone showing MXZerodha admin controls, charts, and portfolio views

Web, Mobile & Programmatic

Responsive web platform, branded Android app and a 7-language SDK - one backend serving every surface.

Every Indian Market Segment

Equity, futures, options, commodities, currency, ETFs, IPOs, mutual funds and bonds under one login.

Broker-Agnostic by Design

Adding a broker means writing one adapter - orders, trades and positions never change.

Built for Web, Android & API

What Is It?

The architectural difference is what matters commercially. Rather than binding your platform to one brokerage, it sits above eight broker APIs behind a unified abstraction layer. Your users connect the accounts they already hold and see one portfolio, one order book and one profit-and-loss statement across all of them. Adding a broker later means writing a single adapter, not reworking your order engine.

  • 8 broker integrations, one order layer
  • 5 algo strategies with paper trading
  • Real-time data from 5 aggregated sources
  • 28+ admin sections, no custom tooling
  • Cloud, on-premise or hybrid deployment
Dark MXZerodha hero page with portfolio watchlist and professional trading statistics

Everything a modern trading operation needs is included as part of the same system – algorithmic execution with five pre-built strategies, real-time WebSocket data aggregated from five sources, social and copy trading, dual payment gateways, comprehensive reporting, and a twenty-eight section admin console. Because it shares one data model rather than stitching separate tools together, orders, positions, payments and reports reconcile against each other by construction.

How Operators Earn

Zerodha Clone Revenue Models - Brokerage, Subscriptions, API Tiers & Referrals

A trading platform earns in more ways than brokerage alone, and the operators who do well are usually the ones who build several revenue lines rather than depending on transaction volume. Every lever below is supported natively and configured from the admin console.

Per-Trade Brokerage

Operator-defined brokerage per segment and per broker, with slab structures and tier overrides configurable in admin.

Subscription Tiers

Free through Institutional plans gating broker count, algo strategies, order limits and API access.

API Access Tiers

Programmatic access sold by rate limit and scope - a natural B2B revenue line for algo traders and partners.

Broker Referral Revenue

Earn recurring revenue when users open broker accounts through your platform, by volume or flat referral fee.

Payment Gateway Margin

Apply transaction fees on deposits and withdrawals across Razorpay, Stripe and direct UPI rails.

White-Label Sub-Licensing

License your branded platform onward to partner brokers, with usage-based pricing that scales as they grow.

None of this requires code changes or a redeployment. Brokerage slabs, subscription tiers, API rate limits and referral arrangements are all operator-configurable, so you can adjust pricing as you learn what your market actually pays for.

Run It Without a Dev Team

Zerodha Clone Admin Dashboard - Users, KYC, Brokers, Risk & Compliance

A trading platform only becomes commercially useful when it is easy to operate. The admin console covers 28+ sections so a small team can run a multi-broker operation without building internal tooling.

Admin Dashboard Sections

User & Role Management

Create, suspend and delete accounts, assign roles, force logout and export user data for compliance.

KYC Review Workflow

Document preview, approve or reject with reason codes, request resubmission and track status per user.

Broker Configuration

Add credentials, test connections, set commission structures and monitor real-time broker API health.

Trading Oversight

View every order and position platform-wide, with cancel authority and full audit attribution.

Risk Management

Position size caps, daily loss limits, margin thresholds and automated square-off rules per user.

Finance & Ledger

Double-entry ledger, brokerage revenue, invoice generation and payment gateway configuration.

Market Data Control

Configure and test the five data sources, manage failover order and maintain the instrument master.

System Health

Database, Redis, WebSocket and BullMQ job status with queue depth and failed-job recovery.

Feature Flags

Toggle features per environment with percentage rollouts and A/B variants - no deployment needed.

  • Every administrative action permission-checked
  • Written to an immutable audit log
  • Before and after state captured per change
  • Actor and timestamp recorded on every entry

Audit & Compliance

Immutable log of every admin action with before/after state, filterable and exportable for regulators.

  • Broker connection health at a glance
  • Queue depth and processing lag
  • Database and cache status
  • All on one operations dashboard

Feature flags let you roll changes out gradually by environment or user segment without a deployment.

Know Your Buyer

Who Is Our Zerodha Clone App Built For?

The platform is designed for operators who want trading infrastructure without building it – from fintech founders launching their first product to established brokerages modernizing their stack.

If your business depends on market access, execution quality, client trust and recurring revenue, a trading platform is infrastructure – not a feature.

Where It Fits

Zerodha Clone Use Cases - Neo-Broking, Prop Desks & Wealth Platforms

Launch a low-cost broking product with your own brokerage structure, targeting retail traders who want a modern interface and access to every market segment from a single login. You control pricing, positioning and the customer relationship rather than renting it from an incumbent platform.

Multi-Broker Aggregation Platform

Serve the traders who already hold two or three broker accounts and reconcile their portfolios by hand. One order book, one consolidated profit-and-loss statement and one watchlist across every connection – this is the gap no mainstream Indian platform currently fills.

Algo & Quant Trading Product

Package the algo engine and SDK ecosystem as a standalone product for quantitative traders. Monetize through strategy slots, API rate tiers and paper-trading access, targeting users who currently maintain their own broker connectors and would rather not.

Advisory & Managed Accounts Desk

Equip advisors managing multiple client accounts with bulk order placement, per-client portfolio segmentation and consolidated compliance-ready reporting. The operational time saved on daily reconciliation is usually the argument that closes this segment.

Social & Copy Trading Network

Build a community-first trading product around the leaderboard, activity feed and copy-trading engine. Social features drive retention and referral in a category where acquisition costs are high and switching is otherwise easy.

White-Label for Partner Brokerages

Deploy under a partner brokerage’s brand with their broker set, their fee structure and their compliance requirements. White-label licensing turns the platform into infrastructure that others build businesses on, at materially higher contract values.

Education, Research & Portfolio Tools

The same engine also supports adjacent models – trading education platforms that need a working product alongside their content, research and advisory businesses distributing calls through a real interface, and broker-agnostic portfolio tools for users who want visibility without changing brokers.

Trading is no longer a niche activity for Indian consumers. It has become mainstream financial behaviour, and in that market the platform that owns the interface owns the relationship, the data and the pricing power.

Market Timing

Why Launch a Zerodha-Style Trading Platform in 2026?

Retail participation in Indian markets has grown substantially, algorithmic execution keeps taking share of overall volume, and a new generation of traders expects real-time, mobile-first, socially connected platforms as a baseline rather than a differentiator. Operators still running legacy infrastructure are structurally disadvantaged in that environment – not because their brokerage is worse, but because the experience around it is.

Own the Relationship, Not Rent It

Build a branded platform where you control the interface, the fee structure, the customer data and the pricing power - instead of renting distribution from an incumbent.

Multi-Broker Is the Unmet Need

No mainstream Indian platform unifies broker accounts today. Traders holding two or three logins reconcile portfolios by hand, which is a real and unaddressed problem.

Algo Access Is Still a Gap

Retail algo traders either hand-code broker connectors or pay high fees to third-party platforms with thin coverage. Built-in strategies plus an SDK removes both barriers at once.

Compliance Becomes a Moat

SEBI-aligned KYC, retention and audit infrastructure is painful to retrofit and slow for competitors to match. Building it in from the start is a durable advantage.

Revenue Beyond Brokerage

Subscription tiers, API access plans and broker referral income diversify away from per-trade economics, which matters when volumes are seasonal and competition compresses pricing.

Skip Twelve to Eighteen Months

Broker integrations, real-time market data, order management and risk enforcement already exist, tested and documented. That is the part teams consistently underestimate.

Platform by the Numbers

8
Broker Integrations
70+
Frontend Pages
60
Backend Modules
7
SDK Languages

The window matters. User acquisition in fintech is expensive and compounding: platforms that launch credible products early capture attention and word-of-mouth that late entrants have to buy back through marketing spend. An eight to twelve month delay is not neutral – it is the cost of the users your competitors sign in the meantime.

Under the Hood

Zerodha Clone Tech Stack - Next.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL & WebSocket Infrastructure

Under the hood, a Zerodha-style trading platform needs low-latency market data, transactional integrity and horizontally scalable APIs. Miracuves uses a modern, deployment-ready technology stack built for order execution, real-time feeds and operator control.

Mobile & Web Experience

Next.js 16 (Web) · Android (Mobile)

  • App Router with React 18 server components
  • SEO-indexable instrument and marketing pages
  • Branded Android app with push and biometrics

API & Business Logic

NestJS (TypeScript)

  • 60+ modules across orders, positions and risk
  • Typed DTO validation on every endpoint
  • Swagger-documented REST for SDK generation

User, Order & Transaction Data

PostgreSQL 16 / Prisma

  • ACID-compliant order, trade and ledger records
  • Versioned migrations across environments
  • Indexed for fast portfolio and report queries

Real-Time Market Data

Socket.io · Redis Pub/Sub

  • Live quotes, depth and order status streaming
  • Redis fan-out for horizontal WebSocket scale
  • Auto-reconnect with delta sync on drop

Async Processing & Queues

BullMQ · Redis

  • Order execution kept off the blocking path
  • Notifications, reports and audit sync queued
  • Exponential backoff with dead-letter handling

Infrastructure & Delivery

Docker · Turborepo · CDN

  • Cloud, on-premise or hybrid deployment
  • Health and readiness probes for orchestration
  • CDN assets, TLS enforced, five-layer rate limits

Note for Tech Buyers: the stack is deliberately mainstream – Next.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL and Redis. Your internal team can extend modules, add broker adapters, integrate third-party tools and move between clouds without depending on a proprietary framework or niche skill set.

Visual Flow Diagram

Trader Login Broker Setup Live Market Data Order Execution Positions & Holdings Risk & Ledger Reports & Analytics

How It's Built

Zerodha Clone Platform Architecture & Backend Flow

Broker Abstraction Layer

Every broker implements one adapter interface. Orders, trades and positions never change when a broker is added or swapped.

Order Management Pipeline

Validation → risk check → margin verification → broker submission → fill reconciliation, each stage independently observable.

Real-Time Data Fan-Out

Five sources aggregate into Redis, then fan out over Socket.io to subscribed clients with automatic source failover.

Async Job Processing

BullMQ queues separate order execution, market data, notifications, reporting and audit sync by priority.

Dual-Gateway Payments

A unified payment record abstracts Razorpay and Stripe, so the margin engine never depends on a processor.

Immutable Audit Layer

Fund transactions, trade records and audit logs are append-only, giving forensic-grade traceability for regulators.

Performance Targets

Built to Scale - Low-Latency Execution, WebSocket Fan-Out & High Order Volume

Trading platforms fail in public. When markets gap at the open, or a result announcement sends volume through a single scrip, the platform is judged on the worst thirty seconds of the day rather than the average. The architecture below is designed for that peak, not for a quiet Tuesday afternoon.

Order placement targets sub-500ms latency from click to broker acknowledgement, with API reads under 100ms and writes under 300ms at the 95th percentile. The order path is deliberately kept free of non-essential work – market data enrichment, notification dispatch and reporting all move to background queues so nothing blocks an execution.

WebSocket capacity runs to 10,000 concurrent connections per instance, scaled horizontally through the Redis adapter so multiple server processes share room state. Clients reconnect automatically with exponential backoff and perform a delta sync on reconnect, so a dropped connection during volatile trading does not leave a trader looking at stale prices.

Market data targets sub-200ms end-to-end delivery from exchange feed to user dashboard. Five sources are aggregated behind one interface, and if the primary degrades the platform fails over to a secondary within five seconds – a trader should never be the person who discovers your data provider is down.

API servers and queue workers are stateless, so they scale independently of each other. You run more order-execution workers through the trading session and fewer overnight, while reporting and audit-sync workers run on the opposite schedule. Capacity follows the market rather than sitting idle at a fixed size.

Sub-500ms Order Placement

Target latency from click to broker acknowledgement stays under 500ms, with API reads under 100ms and writes under 300ms at the 95th percentile.

10,000 Concurrent WebSockets

Per-instance connection capacity, scaled horizontally through the Redis adapter, with automatic reconnect and delta sync so dropped clients never see stale prices.

Market Data Under 200ms

Target end-to-end delivery from exchange feed to user dashboard, with automatic failover to a secondary source inside five seconds if the primary degrades.

Stateless Horizontal Scale

API servers and queue workers scale independently - more order-execution workers through the session, more reporting workers overnight, capacity following the market.

Partitioned High-Volume Tables

Orders, trades, OHLCV candles and audit logs are designed for time-based partitioning from day one, because retrofitting it onto a live trading database is not comfortable.

99.5% Uptime Target

Graceful degradation when a single broker API fails, health and readiness probes for orchestration, and queued retry with backoff rather than dropped orders.

The high-volume tables – orders, trades, OHLCV candles and audit logs – are designed for time-based partitioning from the outset. A single instrument on one-minute candles generates roughly 288 rows per trading day; across a few thousand instruments that compounds quickly, and retrofitting partitioning onto a live trading database is not a comfortable exercise.

Note for founders and CTOs: you can start on a single node and scale out later without re-architecting. Nothing in the design assumes a fixed topology, a single region, or a particular cloud – the same codebase runs on one container or across an autoscaling cluster.

Zerodha Clone Add-Ons - International Markets, Custom Brokers & Advanced Analytics

Out of the box the platform is complete and ready to launch. The modules below are the ones operators most often add once they know their market – either to reach a segment the base product does not cover, or to differentiate against competitors running similar infrastructure.

Native iOS & Android Apps

Fully native mobile clients built as a separate project alongside the responsive web application that ships with the base platform.

International Markets & Multi-Currency

Extend beyond INR to US equities and other international segments, with multi-currency positions, settlement and reporting throughout.

Mutual Fund SIP Automation

Mandate setup ships in the base product. Full auto-debit execution against a recurring SIP schedule is the add-on that completes the flow.

IPO Financing & Margin Funding

Leveraged IPO applications and margin funding against existing holdings, with the exposure, limit and repayment logic that lending requires.

Options Greeks Auto-Hedging

Automated delta and gamma hedging against a live options book, extending the Greeks the platform already calculates and surfaces.

Strategy Marketplace

A two-sided marketplace where quantitative traders publish strategies and subscribers deploy them, with revenue share handled on the platform.

Institutional Risk Analytics

Basel-aligned exposure reporting, stress testing and capital-adequacy analytics for deployments serving institutional trading desks.

Additional Brokers & Languages

Adapters beyond the eight shipped broker connections, plus interface languages beyond English and Hindi, built to the existing adapter and locale patterns.

The Commercial Case

Marketability, Revenue Potential & Business Prospects

A trading platform is not only a technology product – it is a recurring-revenue business with unusually high switching costs. Once a user has connected their brokers, built watchlists, configured alerts and deployed strategies, moving to a competitor means rebuilding all of it. Retention compounds in a way it simply does not for most consumer software.

High Switching Cost

Once users connect brokers, build watchlists and run strategies, moving platforms is genuinely painful. Retention compounds.

Multiple Revenue Lines

Brokerage, subscriptions, API tiers, referral income and payment margin - diversified from day one.

Structural Market Tailwind

Retail participation and algo share are both rising in Indian markets, expanding the addressable base.

Enterprise Upsell Path

Retail launch first, then white-label licensing to partner brokers at materially higher contract values.

Main Revenue Levers

Per-trade brokerage configured per segment; subscription tiers gating broker count and algo access; API plans sold by rate limit; broker referral share; and transaction margin on deposits and withdrawals.

Every connected broker deepens lock-in, every deployed strategy raises switching cost, and every white-label partner turns the platform into infrastructure others build on.

Example Revenue Scenarios

These are not promises, but realistic business patterns trading platforms can aim for based on active-trader base, pricing tiers, broker partnerships, API adoption, and market execution.

Model A – Focused Broking Platform

1K-5K Active Traders

~ Subscription + brokerage potential

Revenue can come from monthly subscription tiers, per-trade brokerage, premium analytics, and paid alert packs.

Best suited for niche broking startups, regional trading platforms, advisory-led communities, trading educators, and early-stage operators validating demand before scaling acquisition.

Model B – Multi-Broker Aggregator

~ 50K Active Traders

~ Subscription + API + referral model

Revenue can come from tiered subscriptions, API access plans, broker referral share, premium data packs, and copy-trading fees.

Best suited for funded fintech startups, multi-broker aggregators, algo communities, wealth platforms, and operators scaling beyond an initial trader base.

Model C – Enterprise & White-Label

100K+ Traders / Partners

Full platform revenue engine potential

Revenue can come from a stronger mix of subscriptions, brokerage, API tiers, white-label licensing, enterprise deployments, and partner revenue sharing.

Best suited for established brokerages, financial institutions, large fintech brands, prop desks, and SaaS operators licensing the platform onward to their own clients.

Not every route to a trading platform ends in a product you can actually operate. Here is where we differ.

Industries

Industries We Serve

The Zerodha Clone suits any operator entering or expanding within the trading, investment and financial technology ecosystem. Stock trading startups launch branded platforms for retail participants. Fintech companies bolt a trading layer onto an existing product. Broker-dealers modernize client-facing systems without touching the back office. Algo trading businesses package strategy tooling for quantitative users. Trading educators wrap a working product around their content. WealthTech platforms add portfolio analytics and investment workflows. Proprietary desks run internal trading operations with proper oversight. White-label agencies deploy branded fintech products for their own clients.

Miracuves’ Zerodha Clone is built as a high-performance, broker-agnostic trading platform that adapts to the market you are actually operating in – Indian capital markets by default, with international exchange integrations available as a customization. Whether you are launching a discount broking product, extending an existing fintech offering, or deploying under a partner’s brand, the same foundation supports it. What changes is the configuration, the branding and the commercial model, not the underlying engineering.

The Miracuves Zerodha Clone starts from $15,999 for a launch-ready white-label deployment. Building equivalent capability internally typically runs into crores over 12-18 months.

Six days from our side. Rebranding the platform and deploying it to your server is done in under six days.
