In short

Miracuves builds data science models for product and operations teams: demand forecasts, customer segments, churn and propensity scores, experiment analysis and pricing models, trained on your own data and scored on held-out records before anyone relies on them. A custom build takes 2-8 weeks; ready-made platforms from our 90+ catalogue ship in 6 working days. You own 100% of the source code, notebooks and models.

Our Data Science Approach

How Miracuves delivers Data Science solutions - from 9,000+ projects of real experience

After deploying 9,000+ projects and publishing 3,900+ apps, Miracuves has a specific way of working with data science. We start from the business decision the model has to inform - how much stock to order, which customers to call, which price to test - and work back to the data, not from an algorithm looking for a problem.

Our Python, R and SQL work produces something you can run without us: feature code in your repository, tracked experiments, and a model artefact with a documented evaluation. Full source and notebooks are yours on handoff.

Who this service is built for: Product, growth and operations teams that already collect data and need a prediction or a decision rule from it - a demand forecast, customer segments, a churn or propensity score, a pricing test read correctly. Miracuves Data Science fits when you want one team to own the question from data audit to deployed model, with published pricing and full IP ownership. If you only need reporting on what already happened, we will say so upfront and point you to data analytics instead; if your data is not yet in one place, to data engineering.

  • Baseline model shipped before anything more complex
  • Modular analysis code enforced: reproducible runs and testable transforms from day one
  • Python connectors for each source system: your database, warehouse, CRM or event stream
  • Scheduled pipelines in Airflow, and CI that runs data and model tests on every commit
  • Model and dashboard deployment fully managed: access control, refresh schedules and monitoring

From our Data Science team - engineering standard
Every data science engagement starts from the same written baseline: the question and the metric that answers it agreed before the first query, a train and test split fixed before any modelling, feature and training code reviewed in pull requests, credentials in environment configuration rather than in notebooks, and a full run against production-sized data before handover. Data sources and scope are put in writing before payment.

Technology Comparison

Data Science vs In-House vs Off-the-Shelf BI - which is right for your data?

A custom model, a managed AutoML service and a BI tool answer different questions at very different costs. Miracuves tells you which one your decision actually needs - even when the honest answer is a dashboard rather than a model - because the choice decides running cost and who can explain the result.

Choose Data Science if...

A decision depends on a prediction you must explain · your data spans several systems · the model has to run inside your product or a scheduled pipeline · one team should own data, model and delivery.

Consider an alternative if…

You only need reporting on what already happened (a BI tool or data analytics) · your data is not yet collected in one place (start with data engineering) · you already have data scientists and need extra hands only. Custom Solutions →

Data science guide

What to know before you hire a data science company

The decisions a buyer faces before a data science engagement starts: which discipline you actually need, whether your data is ready, what you receive at the end and what it costs.

Data science, data analytics or data engineering: which one do you need?

They answer different questions. Data analytics explains what already happened: revenue by channel, cohort retention, a weekly KPI dashboard. Data engineering moves and cleans data so it can be trusted: pipelines from your app, CRM and payment provider into one warehouse. Data science predicts or decides: next month's demand, which customers are likely to leave, whether a price change really lifted margin.

If your numbers disagree between systems, start with data engineering. If you need reporting rather than prediction, data analytics is the better fit and costs less. Data science earns its price when a decision is made often enough that a better prediction pays back, and the history to learn from already exists. If the model has to run inside a product at high volume, our ML development service is built for that.

What questions can a data science engagement answer?

Most engagements start from one of four business questions. Each has a standard method, a baseline to beat and a way to check the answer against what happens next.

  • Forecasting: weekly demand per product or store, call volume, cash flow. Judged against a seasonal baseline on the most recent weeks, never on a random sample.
  • Segmentation: grouping customers by behavior, value or needs so marketing and product can treat them differently. Judged by whether segments stay stable and act differently, not by how neat the clusters look.
  • Experimentation: A/B test design, sample size and an analysis that separates a real lift from noise, including when a test has to run longer than planned.
  • Pricing and propensity: price elasticity, discount response, and churn or conversion scores that rank who to contact first.

Is your data ready for data science?

Three things decide it. History: a forecast needs at least one full seasonal cycle, and ideally two, so the model can compare this December with last December. Outcomes: a churn model needs records of customers who actually left, and a pricing model needs periods where prices changed. Joins: customer, order and event data must share an identifier, or the first weeks go on matching records instead of modelling.

Miracuves starts every engagement with a short data audit that answers these three questions in writing. If the answer is no, we tell you what to start collecting, or recommend a data engineering phase first, before you pay for a model the data cannot support.

How are data science results delivered: notebooks, models, dashboards or APIs?

It depends on who acts on the answer. A one-off question, such as whether last quarter's discount paid for itself, ends in a written analysis and a notebook your analysts can rerun. A recurring decision, such as the weekly stock order, needs a scheduled pipeline that writes predictions to your database or a dashboard. A decision made inside your product, such as which offer to show at checkout, needs the model behind a REST API with a response time agreed up front.

Whatever the format, you receive the training code, the fixed test split, the evaluation report and the model files, so a later team can retrain the model without us.

Should you hire a data scientist or use a data science company?

Hire when data science is a permanent function: several models, retrained for years, owned by someone who knows the business in depth. A single hire rarely covers data engineering, statistics, modelling and deployment alone, and a good senior data scientist can take months to find.

Use a company like Miracuves when you have one to three well-defined questions, need a first result in weeks, or want pipelines and conventions in place before your first hire starts. The code, notebooks and documentation land in your repository, so an in-house data scientist inherits tested models rather than a slide deck. Many clients do both: we build the first models, then support the new hire on a monthly retainer.

What does a data science project cost to build and to run?

A custom data science MVP at Miracuves typically runs $8,000-$25,000 and takes 2-8 weeks. The spread comes from data readiness, the number of models and the delivery format: a one-off analysis costs less than a model served live to your app. Retraining, monitoring and new analyses are available from $2,299/month.

Running costs are usually small next to the build. Most forecasting, segmentation and pricing models train on a single cloud machine and run as a scheduled batch job; the larger bills tend to come from warehouse queries and BI licences, which we size with you before launch. Every quote is written before payment.

Technical Architecture

How Miracuves engineers structure Data Science projects for production

These are the decisions our data scientists make on every project - choices that decide whether a model can be retrained next quarter by someone else, or becomes a notebook nobody dares to run again.

  • 01

Architecture - Modular ETL, Analysis, and Visualization Layers

Strict separation: ingestion → features → model → serving. Every stage owns its code, its tests and a written data contract with the next one, so a new source system or a retrained model can be added without breaking the forecasts and dashboards already running.

  • 02

Structure - Modules with Clear Boundaries

Documented feature code keeps every number reproducible: the same data and parameters always give the same forecast. The most common problem we inherit from other teams is transformations trapped in notebooks, run by hand in an order only one person remembers. On our projects every transform lives in a tested module from the first day, and notebooks call it rather than copy it.

  • 03

Rigour - Held-Out Evaluation and Reproducible Features

The fastest way to ship a useless model is to report accuracy from the training set. We fix and version the train and test split before modelling begins, keep feature code in the repository rather than trapped in notebooks, track experiments so any result traces back to the data and parameters that produced it, and report against held-out data. A baseline ships first so the value of anything more complex is measurable.

What most Data Science agencies get wrong

Reporting accuracy from the training set. A random split on time-series data, so the model sees the future. No baseline to measure against. No CI pipeline. Notebooks with no path to production. Hardcoded API keys in notebooks and source. We have taken over projects with every one of these problems, and rebuilding a pipeline so it can be rerun costs more than starting it correctly.

train_baseline.py - pandas + scikit-learn
# Split by time, then make the model beat a baseline# Pattern Miracuves uses for demand forecastsimport pandas as pdfrom sklearn.dummy import DummyRegressorfrom sklearn.ensemble import HistGradientBoostingRegressorfrom sklearn.metrics import mean_absolute_errordf = pd.read_parquet("data/weekly_sales_v3.parquet")cutoff = df["week"].max() - pd.Timedelta(weeks=12)train, test = df[df.week <= cutoff], df[df.week > cutoff]X = ["price", "promo", "lag_1", "lag_52"]base = DummyRegressor(strategy="median").fit(train[X], train.units)model = HistGradientBoostingRegressor().fit(train[X], train.units)for name, m in [("baseline", base), ("model", model)]:    print(name, mean_absolute_error(test.units, m.predict(test[X])))
Holds out the most recent 12 weeks, so the test period comes after everything the model trained on, then scores a median baseline and the real model on the same weeks. If the model cannot beat the baseline on held-out data, it does not ship.

Quality Standards

How Miracuves ensures every Data Science delivery meets production standard

Every model, pipeline and dashboard passes through Miracuves' quality gates before handoff - not as a checklist, but as the standard that decides whether a number is ready to be used in a business decision.

  • Clean pipeline - ingestion / features / model / serving separatedArchitecture
  • Train and test split fixed and versionedData
  • Evaluated on held-out data, never on the training setPerformance
  • Data validation - schema, nulls and ranges checked on every loadQA

  • Production-ready - scheduled runs, access control, rollback and monitoring verifiedDelivery

Enforced QA Gates

Our 6 Continuous Delivery Gateways

Every line of code, every data transform, every trained model and every dashboard must clear all six quality control gates before repository handoff.

01

Code Review on Every Pull Request

Every change to feature code, SQL or training scripts merged into your main branch is reviewed by a senior Miracuves data scientist or engineer. No transform reaches your production pipeline without a test that runs it against sample data.

02

Automated Test Coverage Required

Unit tests for transforms and business logic, data tests for schema and value ranges, and evaluation tests that fail the build if the model drops below the agreed baseline. Minimum coverage enforced before any model or pipeline is released.

03

Production Runs Measured - Not Notebook Runs

Miracuves times every scheduled pipeline and scores every model on the full, production-sized dataset, not on the extract loaded into a notebook. A result that only holds on a laptop sample is never accepted as sufficient.

04

Handoff Package - Not Just a Repository

Source code, notebooks, feature definitions, a model card with evaluation results, environment setup guide, API documentation, deployment credentials, cloud access and post-launch runbook - all included in every project handoff.

05

Production Release - Pipelines and Access Managed

Miracuves handles the production release: scheduled jobs in Airflow, the model served as a batch job or REST API on your cloud, dashboards published with role-based access, secrets in environment configuration, and a rollback to the previous model version.

06

Post-Launch Monitoring - 60-Day Active Support

Data quality checks, prediction logging and drift alerts are configured before launch. During the 60-day post-launch support window Miracuves watches pipeline runs and compares predictions with actual outcomes, and acts before a stale model misleads a decision.

Why Miracuves publishes pricesClients who know the cost of a model upfront can weigh it against the decision it improves. If your project needs a larger budget - more sources, more models, a live API - Miracuves will explain exactly why, not simply charge more.

What affects Data Science project cost at Miracuves

Ready-made platform pricing stays fixed when your scope matches the base product. Custom data science builds scale with: how many systems the data sits in and how clean it is, whether past outcomes exist to learn from (churned customers, accepted offers, price changes), the number of questions and models in scope, how results are delivered (a one-off analysis, a scheduled dashboard or a live API), and how often models must be retrained.

Typical Data Science budget ranges

  • Readymade clonefrom $2,1996 days
  • Custom MVP$8,000-$25,0002-8 weeks depending on scope
  • Ongoing retainerfrom $2,299/month for feature work and maintenance

Every quote is written before payment - no surprise invoices after kickoff.

Example engagement

What a typical Data Science project looks like at Miracuves

An illustrative example of a typical project of this kind, with client details anonymized. Figures show what this kind of build targets, not a named client's results.

A Canadian health network operating 3 hospitals and 12 clinics needed a unified analytics platform to aggregate patient outcomes data across Epic, Cerner, and paper-based records - complying with PIPEDA and provincial health privacy laws.

  1. 01

    The Challenge

Patient data lived in 3 different EHR systems plus paper forms scanned as PDFs. Clinical researchers spent 60% of grant time cleaning data instead of analyzing it. Needed a compliant data lake with pre-built views for 15 common research queries.

  2. 02

    What Miracuves Delivered

Built an Azure data lakehouse with Databricks for ETL pipelines. Used NLP (spaCy + Transformers) to extract structured fields from scanned clinical notes. Created a Streamlit dashboard suite with 15 pre-built analytics views covering readmission rates, treatment efficacy, and population health.

  3. 03

    Outcome

Deployed in 7 weeks. Data cleaning time reduced by 80%. Researchers completed a sepsis outcome study in 3 months instead of 14. The platform became the reference architecture for the province's health data strategy.

Frequently Asked

Questions about Data Science at Miracuves

Something not covered here? Ask on WhatsApp and you will usually have an answer within two hours.

Ask us directly
How do we know the model is actually working?

Because it is measured on data it has never seen, against a baseline agreed before the work started. Miracuves fixes and versions the train and test split up front, ships a simple baseline first so the value of anything more sophisticated is visible rather than assumed, and reports on held-out data. We also agree what failure looks like, and the point at which a model should be retrained or switched off, before it informs a customer-facing decision.

How much does data science development cost at Miracuves?

A ready-made platform from our catalogue starts from $2,199 and ships in 6 days; its price stays fixed when your scope matches the base product. A custom data science MVP typically runs $8,000-$25,000 and takes 2-8 weeks depending on scope - how many systems your data sits in and how clean it is, whether past outcomes exist to learn from, the number of models, how results are delivered and how often models are retrained decide where it lands. Ongoing work is available from $2,299/month for feature work and maintenance. Every quote is written before payment, with no surprise invoices after kickoff.

Does Miracuves deliver the full source code?

Yes - completely. Miracuves delivers the full data science codebase: notebooks, feature and training code, the trained model files, the repository with complete commit history, environment configuration, API documentation, and all deployment credentials. Zero lock-in. Your data team or any other company can retrain and extend the models immediately after handoff.

How fast can a Data Science project be delivered?

A ready-made platform from our catalogue - web app, admin panel and mobile apps, white-labelled - ships in 6 working days. A custom data science build takes 2-8 weeks depending on how ready your data is and how many models are in scope. All timelines are stated in writing before any payment is requested.

Data Science vs In-House Analytics - which does Miracuves recommend?

It depends on how many models you will run and for how long. If data science is core to the product and you expect many models retrained for years, build an in-house team - Miracuves can build the first models, pipelines and conventions they inherit. If you need one to three questions answered well - a forecast, a churn score, a pricing test - an engagement with Miracuves is faster than hiring, and you still own every line of code. For reporting only, we recommend data analytics instead.

What is included in the analytics dashboard with every delivery?

For a custom data science build, the dashboard shows model outputs next to the numbers they drive - forecasts against actuals, segment sizes and movement, experiment results with their confidence intervals - built in Streamlit, Power BI, QuickSight or your existing BI tool, with access by role. A ready-made platform also ships its own web admin panel with user, order and revenue reports.

Does Miracuves handle cloud deployment and hosting?

Yes, as part of every delivery engagement. Miracuves deploys pipelines, models and dashboards to your AWS, GCP or Azure account or your own servers: scheduled jobs, the model as a batch job or REST API, secrets in environment configuration, and alerts for failed runs and drift. The cloud accounts stay in your name, so you keep control of the data and the bill.

What happens after the pipeline is delivered if there are issues?

Every Miracuves data science delivery includes 60 days of post-launch technical support. Pipeline failures and bugs within the delivered scope are fixed at no additional cost. New models or questions beyond scope are quoted separately. Monthly retainers for retraining and monitoring are available at published rates.

How does Miracuves handle data privacy and confidentiality?

Miracuves signs a bilateral NDA before any project details are shared. The NDA covers all technical details, business logic, and IP. An IP assignment agreement confirming 100% ownership transfers to the client is signed at project start - not at the end.

Can Miracuves work with personal or health data?

Yes, with controls agreed before any data moves. We work inside your cloud account where possible, remove or pseudonymize direct identifiers before modelling, restrict access by role and keep a log of who ran what. We build to the controls GDPR, HIPAA and similar frameworks require; certification and legal sign-off remain your organization's audit. An NDA is signed before any data is shared.

What happens when a model's accuracy drops after launch?

Sooner or later it will, because customer behavior, prices and product mix change. Every model we deploy logs its predictions, compares them with actual outcomes and alerts when error rises past a threshold agreed with you. Within the 60-day support window we investigate and fix issues in the delivered scope; after that, retraining and monitoring are covered by the retainer from $2,299/month, or by your own team using the retraining code we hand over.

Do we need a data warehouse before starting a data science project?

No. Many first models are built from exports of your production database, CRM or spreadsheets. A warehouse becomes necessary when the model has to refresh on a schedule from several systems; in that case we scope the pipeline as part of the build, or recommend our data engineering service first.
