In short

Miracuves builds, upgrades and migrates Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce stores for retailers, B2B sellers and agencies: custom modules, Hyvä or headless front ends, multi-store setups and ERP or PIM integrations. Custom Magento work runs 2-8 weeks, from $3,699 depending on the work; a ready-made platform goes live in 6 working days. You own 100% of the code we write; Adobe Commerce's core stays licensed from Adobe.

Our Magento Approach

How Miracuves delivers Magento stores - from 500+ enterprise projects of real experience

After deploying 500+ enterprise Magento stores and migrating 120+ platforms, Miracuves has a specific way of working with Magento. Each store starts from a clean Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce install, with extensions pulled in through Composer and every change we make written as its own module, so Adobe's security patches and version upgrades still apply cleanly. Our 90+ ready-made platforms are separate products on their own stack, not Magento starter kits.

One Magento 2 install runs the storefront, the admin, the REST and GraphQL APIs and, when you want one, a headless front end - so a multi-brand or B2B business keeps one catalog and one order pipeline instead of paying for several platforms. On Magento Open Source the whole codebase is yours to host; on Adobe Commerce the platform core stays under Adobe's license, and every module, theme and integration we write is yours on handoff.

Who this service is built for: Retailers and manufacturers with large or configurable catalogs, B2B sellers who need company accounts, negotiated prices and quotes, brands running several stores, countries or currencies from one admin, and merchants still on Magento 1 or an out-of-date Magento 2 release. Miracuves fits when you want one company accountable for the whole build - modules, front end, integrations, hosting setup and handoff - with published pricing and the code handed over. If your store is small, has no B2B needs and has no developer to own upgrades, we will say so upfront and point you to Shopify or WooCommerce instead.

  • Varnish full-page cache and Redis for cache and sessions on every project: category and product pages served from cache, not rebuilt for each visitor
  • Clean modular MVC architecture enforced: predictable module dependencies, upgrade-safe code from day one
  • Custom Magento modules with di.xml preferences, plugins and observers when checkout, pricing or stock rules must change - never edits to core files
  • CI/CD configured on every project: Adobe Commerce Cloud's Git-based deploys, or a Composer build pipeline for self-hosted stores
  • Go-live fully managed: production mode, static content deploy, indexers, cron, SSL and DNS

Honest noteNone of these six runs on Magento: each is a ready-made catalogue platform on its own stack, live under your brand in 6 days, while a Magento store is custom work of 2-8 weeks. Magento earns its running cost on large catalogs, B2B and multi-store; for a simple store with under 1,000 products or no B2B requirements, Miracuves may recommend Shopify or WooCommerce instead. We tell you which fits before any commitment.

Technology Comparison

Magento vs Shopify vs WooCommerce vs BigCommerce - which is right for your store?

Agencies that sell only one platform tend to skip this comparison. We would rather talk a merchant out of Magento than put a 200-product store on it: the platform you choose fixes your hosting bill, the developers you can hire and how hard every upgrade will be.

Magento guide

What to know before you hire a Magento development company

The questions retailers, B2B sellers and agencies ask us before they sign a Magento project - which edition to run, what the build covers, Magento 1, and when a lighter platform is the better buy.

Magento Open Source, Adobe Commerce or Adobe Commerce Cloud - which do you need?

All three share the Magento 2 codebase; they differ in who licenses it and who runs the servers. Magento Open Source is free to download and self-host, and already covers catalog, checkout, multi-store, Page Builder and the REST and GraphQL APIs. Adobe Commerce is the paid, licensed edition: it adds the B2B module (company accounts, shared catalogs, negotiable quotes, requisition lists), customer segments, scheduled content staging and Adobe support. Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure is that same edition hosted on Adobe's managed platform, with Fastly and New Relic included.

Adobe quotes its licenses directly, generally scaled to the size of the business, and its line-up now also includes a SaaS-style edition, so we confirm current editions and terms with you and Adobe at scoping instead of printing figures here. If you need none of the Adobe-only features, Open Source plus a few extensions is usually the cheaper route.

What does Magento Commerce Cloud development involve?

Adobe renamed Magento Commerce Cloud to Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure, but the work is the same. Your code lives in a Git repository that Adobe's pipeline builds and deploys: each environment - integration, staging and production - is described in .magento.app.yaml, services.yaml and routes.yaml, and a push to a branch runs the build, deploy and post-deploy phases. Fastly provides the page cache and CDN, so caching rules are written as Fastly VCL snippets rather than a Varnish file.

On a cloud project Miracuves sets up the repository layout, the ece-tools deploy configuration, secrets as environment variables, Fastly settings, New Relic alerts and a release routine that always runs on staging before production. We also take over cloud projects whose deploys fail or whose staging has drifted away from production.

What does Magento development include?

A Magento quote is really several kinds of work, and budgets differ mainly in how much of each a store needs:

  • Custom modules: checkout steps, pricing rules, shipping carriers and admin tools, written as plugins, observers and service contracts, never as core edits.
  • Themes and front ends: a Luma-based theme, a Hyvä theme for a lighter storefront, or a headless React front end - PWA Studio or a custom build - on the GraphQL API.
  • B2B: company accounts, shared catalogs, quotes and quick order on Adobe Commerce, or matching extensions on Open Source.
  • Multi-store: websites, stores and store views, each with its own domain, currency, language and prices, run from one admin.
  • Integrations: ERP, PIM, CRM, payment and shipping, usually through the REST API and message queues so a slow ERP never holds up checkout.
  • Performance: Varnish or Fastly page cache, Redis, OpenSearch, indexers on schedule and cron that is actually monitored.

How do you migrate a store off Magento 1?

Magento 1 reached end of life in June 2020 and gets no security patches from Adobe, so a store still running it carries payment and data risk that grows every month. Magento 2 is not an upgrade of Magento 1 but a different codebase: themes and extensions cannot be carried across and must be rebuilt or replaced.

We use Adobe's Data Migration Tool to move products, categories, customers, orders and store settings, rebuild the theme and custom modules on Magento 2, map every old URL to its new address with 301 redirects, and run a delta sync until the two stores match on launch day. When Magento 2 would be more platform than the business needs, we move the store to Shopify or WooCommerce instead.

When is Magento too heavy for a store?

Magento asks for more than a license decision: a server tuned for PHP, OpenSearch, Redis and Varnish, a developer who applies Adobe's security patches, and someone who knows why an indexer or cron job has stopped. That overhead pays off with thousands of SKUs, B2B pricing or several storefronts; it does not pay off for a single-brand shop with a few hundred products. We point those merchants elsewhere:

  • A direct-to-consumer store that wants no servers at all: Shopify runs hosting, security and checkout for you.
  • A shop that lives inside a WordPress content site: WooCommerce keeps store and content in one admin.
  • A mid-size catalog, no in-house developer and a preference for SaaS: BigCommerce.
  • A self-hosted store on a tight budget with a modest catalog: OpenCart or PrestaShop, both lighter PHP platforms.

Does Miracuves offer white-label Magento development for agencies?

Yes. Agencies bring us Magento work they have sold but cannot staff: module builds, version upgrades, Magento 1 migrations, performance fixes and Hyvä themes. Deliverables are white-label ready and fully rebrandable on delivery, an NDA is signed on day one, and you receive the full source code, documentation and credentials at handoff.

For steady overflow, a retainer from $2,299/month keeps a dedicated Miracuves team on your agency's Magento projects with weekly sprint demos; a one-off build is scoped and priced in writing before work starts. First replies come in under 2 hours, Mon-Sat 10:00-19:00 IST.

Should you hire a Magento developer or an enterprise Magento development company?

A freelance Magento developer suits a contained job, such as fixing one extension. An enterprise store needs several skills at once: PHP and module architecture, front-end theme work, DevOps for Varnish, OpenSearch and deploys, QA for checkout, and someone who owns the security patch schedule after launch. Adobe runs certification exams for Adobe Commerce developers and architects, which are worth asking any individual candidate about.

Whoever you hire, ask how they customize without touching core, how Adobe's patches reach production, to see a load-test report from a real launch, and what the handoff contains. At Miracuves a Magento engagement is either a scoped custom build - from $3,699 depending on the work, over 2-8 weeks - or a retainer from $2,299/month.

Technical Architecture

How Miracuves engineers structure Magento projects for production

These are the decisions our engineers make on every Magento build - the ones that decide whether a store still takes Adobe's patches and upgrades cleanly years later, or turns into a patched-over codebase that has to be rebuilt.

  • 01

    Architecture - Modular, Plugin-Based Design

Strict separation: Theme / Module / Observer layers. Every Magento module owns its models, observers, plugins, and API endpoints independently. This is how Miracuves adds a new integration in days without breaking existing functionality.

  • 02

State - Dependency Injection via di.xml

di.xml keeps module dependencies explicit and testable. What we inherit most often from other agencies is the opposite: rewritten core classes, business rules inside .phtml templates and the ObjectManager called directly, none of it testable. Constructor injection and service contracts are a hard rule on our Magento projects from the first commit.

  • 03

Performance - Varnish FPC, Redis Cache, and OpenSearch

Varnish serves full pages to anonymous shoppers, Redis holds the cache and sessions, and OpenSearch answers catalog search and layered navigation. Indexers run on schedule instead of on every product save, images are converted to WebP, and every deployment is load-tested in production mode - developer mode, which builds generated code and static files on demand, is never used as a performance benchmark.

What most Magento agencies get wrong

Editing core or vendor/ files, so the next security patch silently overwrites the fix. Indexers left on Update on Save, so one catalog import slows the whole store. Cron never set up, so queues, emails and scheduled price rules quietly stop. No staging copy of production. Keys committed to Git with app/etc/env.php. No load test before a big sale. We have inherited every one of these on Magento takeovers - building it right the first time is faster than the clean-up.

events.xml + observer - queued order fulfillment
<!-- etc/events.xml --><config xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"        xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="urn:magento:framework:Event/etc/events.xsd">    <event name="sales_order_save_after">        <observer name="miracuves_queue_fulfillment"                  instance="Miracuves\OrderStatus\Observer\QueueFulfillment"/>    </event></config><?php// Observer/QueueFulfillment.phpdeclare(strict_types=1);namespace Miracuves\OrderStatus\Observer;use Magento\Framework\Event\Observer;use Magento\Framework\Event\ObserverInterface;use Magento\Framework\MessageQueue\PublisherInterface;use Magento\Sales\Model\Order;class QueueFulfillment implements ObserverInterface{    public function __construct(private readonly PublisherInterface $publisher)    {    }    public function execute(Observer $observer): void    {        /** @var Order $order */        $order = $observer->getEvent()->getOrder();        // Act once: when the order first moves into processing        if ($order->getState() === Order::STATE_PROCESSING            && $order->getOrigData('state') !== Order::STATE_PROCESSING) {            // Topic declared in communication.xml; a queue consumer            // sends the order to the warehouse and the ERP            $this->publisher->publish('miracuves.order.fulfillment', $order->getIncrementId());        }    }}
The observer does one job: when an order first reaches processing, it publishes the order number to a message queue. A queue consumer then sends the order to the warehouse and the ERP and triggers notifications, so checkout never waits on a slow outside system - and the logic sits in its own module, untouched by Magento upgrades.

Quality Standards

How Miracuves ensures every Magento delivery meets production standard

Every Magento build clears the same Miracuves quality gates before handoff, whether it is a single-brand shop or a B2B portal with an ERP sync - a delivery standard we apply to every store we ship, not a checklist we tick at the end.

  • Clean modular architecture - Theme / Module / Observer separatedArchitecture
  • Clear separation - no business logic in presentation codeState

Enforced QA Gates

Our 6 Continuous Delivery Gateways

Every module, theme file and deployment script has to clear all six quality gates below before the Magento repository is handed over to you.

01

Code Review on Every Pull Request

Every merge into your main branch is reviewed by a senior Miracuves Magento engineer, who checks for core overrides, direct ObjectManager calls and slow collection queries. No unreviewed or untested code reaches your production store.

02

Automated Test Coverage Required

PHPUnit unit tests for business logic, Magento integration tests for modules that touch the database, and browser tests that walk through search, cart, checkout and customer account flows. Minimum coverage is enforced before any release reaches production.

03

Production Mode Profiled - Not Developer Mode

Miracuves load-tests every release in Magento's production mode, on production-like infrastructure, with a sale-day traffic simulation. Developer mode generates code and static files on demand, so its timings say nothing about what shoppers will see, and it is never accepted as the result.

04

Handoff Package - Not Just a Repository

A Magento handoff is a package, not a repository link: the source code and its documentation, a local and production setup guide, REST and GraphQL API documentation, deployment credentials, Magento admin and hosting access, and a runbook covering cron, indexers, cache and security patching.

05

Go-Live - Deploy, Indexers, Cron and Cache Managed

Miracuves runs the production release: code deployed behind maintenance mode, database schema upgrades applied, static content deployed, indexers set to Update by Schedule, cron verified, Varnish or Fastly and the CDN configured, SSL and DNS switched, and a rollback path ready if a release misbehaves.

06

Post-Launch Monitoring - 60-Day Active Support

New Relic or Datadog is configured before launch. During the 60-day post-launch support window Miracuves watches error rates, slow pages, cron jobs and message queues, and fixes problems before shoppers report them.

Our Process

From brief to deployed Magento store - what happens and when

A Magento build follows the same five steps whether it is a new store, a version upgrade or a Magento 1 migration. At each step you know what Miracuves is doing, what we need from you - hosting or Adobe access, ERP credentials, catalog data - and what you receive. Custom Magento work is billed by milestone over 2-8 weeks; the 6-day timeline applies only to our ready-made platforms.

  1. Step 01

    Brief & NDA

Share your commerce vision via WhatsApp. NDA signed same day. We ask 8 discovery questions about catalog and workflows.

  2. Step 02

Why Miracuves publishes pricesMerchants who see the cost upfront choose their Magento edition, hosting and scope with open eyes. If your store needs a larger budget - more store views, an ERP sync, a B2B layer - Miracuves explains exactly which part drives it rather than simply charging more.

What affects Magento project cost at Miracuves

A ready-made platform's price stays fixed when your scope matches the catalogue product. A custom Magento build scales with: the number of websites and store views, catalog complexity (configurable, bundle and grouped products), integrations (ERP, CRM, PIM, payment gateways), B2B requirements (company accounts, tiered pricing, quote management), a headless or PWA front end, and third-party SDKs or extensions beyond the standard stack. An Adobe Commerce license, if you need one, is paid to Adobe on Adobe's terms.

Typical Magento budget ranges

  • Ready-made platform (not a Magento store)from $2,1996 days
  • Custom Magento workfrom $3,699depending on the work
  • Custom MVP$8,000-$25,0002-8 weeks depending on scope
  • Ongoing retainerfrom $2,299/month for feature work and maintenance

Every quote is written before payment - no surprise invoices after kickoff.

Example engagement

What a typical Magento project looks like at Miracuves

An illustrative example of a typical project of this kind, with client details anonymized. Figures show what this kind of build targets, not a named client's results.

A Milan-based fashion brand needed a multi-vendor marketplace with 3,000+ SKUs, headless PWA storefront, European payment gateway integration, and multi-language support - for shoppers on mobile and desktop browsers - in time for the European autumn/winter fashion season.

  1. 01

    The Challenge

Existing Magento 1 store needed migration to Magento 2 with full catalog preservation, a custom multi-vendor module not available as an extension, and headless PWA frontend - all before the Q4 fashion season launch.

  2. 02

    What Miracuves Delivered

Migrated to Adobe Commerce Cloud, built custom multi-vendor marketplace module, configured Elasticsearch for their full product catalog, integrated with their SAP S/4HANA ERP, and deployed a Hyva-powered headless PWA storefront.

  3. 03

    Outcome

Delivered 2 days ahead of deadline. Multi-vendor marketplace, PWA storefront, and admin panel all included. Client launched on time for the fashion season with 40% faster page loads than their Magento 1 store.

What clients say about building with Miracuves

Named clients, in their own words, on the heavy commerce plumbing Magento buyers care about - distributor-tier pricing and credit, multi-tenant billing with regional tax rules, and a payment gateway with reconciliation. None of the three was built on Magento. Each card names what it was built on; read every testimonial on our client testimonials page.

What is Magento 2 and why should I choose it over Shopify?

Magento 2 is an enterprise-grade e-commerce platform offering unlimited customization, native B2B capabilities, multi-store support from one admin, and full control over your data and checkout flow. Choose Magento when you need complex product catalogs, B2B pricing, or multi-store architecture.

How much does Magento development cost at Miracuves?

If your scope matches a catalogue product, its price is fixed: the ready-made platform - on its own stack, not a Magento store - starts from $2,199 and ships in 6 days. Custom Magento work starts from $3,699, depending on the work. A custom Magento MVP typically costs $8,000-$25,000 over 2-8 weeks, and where it lands depends on the number of websites and store views, catalog complexity, ERP, CRM, PIM and payment integrations, B2B requirements, a headless or PWA front end and extensions beyond the standard stack. An Adobe Commerce license, if you need one, is paid to Adobe. A Magento retainer for feature work and maintenance starts from $2,299/month. Every quote is written before payment, with no surprise invoices after kickoff.

Does Miracuves deliver full source code ownership?

Yes, for everything we build. On Magento Open Source you receive the whole codebase; on Adobe Commerce the platform core stays licensed from Adobe, and every custom module, theme and integration is yours. Either way the handoff includes the Git repository with its full commit history, the Composer files, environment configuration, API documentation and every deployment credential - no lock-in, so your team or another Magento agency can carry on the day after handoff.

How long does it take to build a Magento store?

When one of our catalogue products fits, it goes live under your brand in 6 working days - but it runs on its own stack, not on Magento. A Magento store is custom work: most builds take 2-8 weeks, depending on catalog size, store views, integrations and the front end, and larger scopes, such as a big Magento 1 migration with an ERP, are quoted in writing before work starts. Every timeline is put in writing before we ask for any payment.

Magento vs Shopify vs WooCommerce - which platform should I choose?

For enterprise stores with complex catalogs, B2B workflows, or multi-store requirements, Magento is right. Shopify is better for merchants under 1,000 products with simple needs. WooCommerce fits WordPress-native teams. Miracuves recommends honestly based on your catalog size, B2B needs, and budget.

What is included in the Magento admin panel?

A full Magento admin panel with catalog management, order processing, customer management, analytics dashboard, CMS pages, marketing tools, tax configuration, multi-store management, and extension settings.

When should I NOT use Magento?

Magento is overkill if you have under 1,000 products, no B2B requirements, a budget under $3,000, or no access to a developer. For simple stores, Shopify or WooCommerce offer faster time-to-market with lower maintenance. Post-launch monitoring and performance optimization are included in the 60-day support window.

Does Miracuves handle hosting and server management?

Miracuves assists with server configuration and deployment for every project. For ongoing hosting, we recommend managed Magento hosting (Cloudways, MageMojo) or cloud infrastructure (AWS, DigitalOcean). We provide server configuration, Varnish/Redis setup, and CDN configuration as part of the delivery package.

Can I migrate from an existing platform to Magento?

Yes. Miracuves performs zero-downtime migrations from Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento 1, and custom platforms. Our migration process preserves product catalog, customer accounts, order history, and SEO equity through 301 redirect mapping. Most migrations complete within 4-6 weeks depending on data complexity.

Does Miracuves work on Adobe Commerce Cloud projects?

Yes, both new builds and takeovers. We work inside Adobe's Git-based pipeline - environment files, ece-tools deploy settings, Fastly cache rules and New Relic alerts - and every release runs on staging before production. The Adobe Commerce license and cloud subscription are contracted between you and Adobe; the modules, theme and integrations Miracuves writes are yours.

Can I hire dedicated Magento developers from Miracuves?

Not as individuals by the hour. For continuing Magento capacity, a monthly retainer from $2,299 puts a dedicated Miracuves team on your store: you talk to them directly, see a sprint demo every week and can cancel with 2 weeks notice. A defined project is handled as a Custom Magento Build, scoped and priced before any code is written. We answer first messages in under 2 hours, Mon-Sat 10:00-19:00 IST.

Can Miracuves upgrade or patch an existing Magento 2 store?

Yes. We start with a written audit - Magento and PHP versions, every installed extension and whether it supports the target release, core overrides, custom modules and missing security patches - then upgrade on a staging copy with Composer, fix what breaks and release once search, checkout and integrations pass testing. Stores several releases behind are quoted in stages, so the store keeps trading while the code catches up.
