In short

Miracuves is a Spring Boot development company that builds Java backends, REST APIs and Spring Cloud microservices for product teams and enterprises - Spring Web, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security and Actuator, deployed to your cloud and monitored from launch. Custom Spring Boot work takes 2-8 weeks; a ready-made platform from our catalogue of 90+ ships in 6 working days. You own 100% of the source code.

Our Spring Boot Approach

How Miracuves delivers Spring Boot apps - from 9,000+ projects of real experience

Across 9,000+ projects and 3,900+ published apps, Miracuves has settled on one way of working with Spring Boot. A ready-made platform starts from one of our 90+ catalogue products, already integrated with payment gateways, live maps, real-time data and authentication. A custom Spring Boot project starts from our written service baseline - the layering, security configuration, migrations and Actuator setup described below - so the first sprint goes into your domain logic, not into wiring the framework.

Spring Boot is what teams reach for when a service has to outlive the people who wrote it. Miracuves ships it with honest layering - controller, service, repository - constructor injection so tests need no running container, Flyway migrations in version control, and Actuator endpoints wired into your monitoring from the first deploy rather than after the first incident.

Who this service is built for: Product teams and enterprises that need a Java backend meant to run for years - fintech ledgers and payment services, B2B platforms with SSO and role-based access, logistics and booking systems with heavy integration work - and companies moving an ageing Spring or Java EE application onto current Spring Boot. Choose Miracuves when you want published pricing, full IP ownership of every Spring module, and one company accountable for delivering the backend - not a group of individual Java contractors. If your API is small and I/O-bound and your team already writes JavaScript, we will say so upfront and recommend Node.js instead; if the work reaches beyond one framework, our Java development team is the better fit.

  • Transaction boundaries kept at the service layer, not scattered through the stack
  • Resilience4j circuit breakers configured on every outbound call
  • Actuator wired to your monitoring from the first deploy
  • CI/CD on GitHub Actions configured on every project: tests, a container image and a deploy from the first commit
  • Production deployment fully managed: container images, Kubernetes or VM hosting, PostgreSQL, secrets and TLS

From our Spring Boot team - engineering standard
Each Spring Boot service we take on starts from one written baseline: package and module boundaries agreed before the first commit, every Flyway migration reviewed in a pull request, credentials read from environment variables or a secrets manager rather than an application.yml in the repository, and a load test against a production-like deployment, on a warmed JVM, before handover. Scope, stack and integrations are written down and agreed before you pay anything.

Honest noteSpring Boot runs on the server, behind the APIs, not inside the phone apps. The ready-made platforms above ship with their own stack in 6 days; where your product needs a Spring Boot service of its own - a ledger, an integration layer, an API for partners - that is custom work, 2-8 weeks. We tell you which fits before any commitment.

Technology Comparison

Spring Boot vs Quarkus vs Node.js - which is right for your project?

An agency that only writes Spring will always recommend Spring. Miracuves builds backends on the JVM and on Node.js, so this is the comparison we walk teams through - startup time, memory per instance and operational tooling decide what a service costs to run for the next five years.

Most instances scale to zero or run as short-lived functions, where Quarkus or Micronaut native images start faster · your API is small, I/O-bound and your team writes JavaScript (Node.js) · what you actually need is the mobile app rather than the backend. See React Native →

Spring Boot guide

What to know before you hire a Spring Boot development company

The questions CTOs and product leads ask us before a Spring Boot project starts, answered for Spring Boot specifically - what a build includes, when microservices pay off, how it compares with Quarkus and Micronaut, and what an upgrade from Spring Boot 2 involves.

What does a Spring Boot development company build?

Spring Boot is the opinionated layer on top of the Spring Framework: auto-configuration, an embedded Tomcat, Jetty or Netty server, and starters that pull in dependency versions tested together. What a Spring Boot development company delivers is the application built on those starters, configured for production rather than for a demo.

A Miracuves Spring Boot build typically includes:

  • Spring Web (MVC) for REST controllers, or Spring WebFlux where the API is reactive end to end
  • Spring Data JPA on PostgreSQL or MySQL, with Flyway migrations and fetch joins instead of N+1 queries
  • Spring Security as an OAuth2 or JWT resource server, with SSO and method-level rules
  • Actuator health, readiness and metrics wired to Prometheus and Grafana
  • An OpenAPI spec, a container image, CI on GitHub Actions and the full source in your repository

How do you build Spring Boot microservices?

Each service is its own Spring Boot application with its own database, shipped as a container. Spring Cloud supplies the parts between services: Spring Cloud Gateway for routing and rate limits at the edge, Spring Cloud Config or Kubernetes config maps for settings, OpenFeign or Spring's declarative HTTP clients for calls between services, Resilience4j circuit breakers on every outbound call, and Kafka or RabbitMQ where services should react to events instead of calling each other. Micrometer Tracing follows one request across every hop.

We also say when not to split. A team of five with one product usually ships faster with a modular Spring Boot monolith whose modules can be pulled out later. For architecture decisions that go beyond one framework, see our microservices development service.

Spring Boot vs Quarkus vs Micronaut - which should you choose?

All three run Java or Kotlin services on the JVM, and all three can compile to a GraalVM native image. The difference is when the work happens. Spring Boot wires the application at startup, which costs a few seconds and some memory but gives you the largest ecosystem, the most documentation and the widest hiring pool. Quarkus and Micronaut do more of that work at build time, so they start in milliseconds and use less memory per instance.

Choose Spring Boot for long-lived services, teams that will change over the years, and anything that leans on Spring Security, Spring Data or an existing Spring codebase. Consider Quarkus or Micronaut when you run many small instances that scale to zero or serverless functions, where startup time and memory are billed directly. Spring Boot's own native image support narrows that gap, at the cost of longer builds and limits on reflection.

Can you upgrade a Spring Boot 2 or legacy Spring application?

Yes, and it is one of our most common Spring engagements. Spring Boot 2 stopped receiving open-source updates years ago, and the 3.x line's open-source support ended in mid-2026, so security fixes on either now mean a paid support contract or an upgrade. The move from 2 to 3 is the large step: Java 17 as the minimum, javax packages renamed to jakarta, Spring Security 6 configuration, Hibernate 6 query changes, and Micrometer Tracing replacing Sleuth. From 3.x to Spring Boot 4 the step is smaller.

We start with a written audit, then move in stages: bring the app to the last 2.x release and clear its deprecation warnings, add the tests the upgrade needs, run OpenRewrite recipes for the mechanical changes, and use spring-boot-properties-migrator to catch renamed settings. Older XML-configured Spring applications move onto Spring Boot one module at a time, not in one rewrite.

Do you offer white-label Spring Boot development?

Yes. Agencies, software companies and consultancies use Miracuves to build Spring Boot backends they deliver under their own brand. The NDA is signed before any project details are shared, and an IP assignment transfers 100% of the code to you, so the repository, package names, API documentation and runbooks carry your name, not ours. Your team can sit in the weekly sprint demos and present the work to your own client.

Because the code follows the written baseline on this page - constructor injection, service-layer transactions, Flyway migrations, Actuator from the first deploy - your own Java developers can maintain it after handoff without us. If you want us to keep going, the ongoing Spring Boot retainer starts from $2,299/month.

Spring Boot or general Java development - which service do you need?

Hire for Spring Boot when the job is a server-side application: a REST or GraphQL API, a transactional backend, a set of microservices, or an upgrade of an existing Spring codebase. That is this page. Choose our Java development service when the work is wider than one framework - Jakarta EE or other Java frameworks, batch and data-processing jobs, libraries and SDKs, or a JVM-wide performance problem.

Two more boundaries. If the product is an API programme for partners, with versioning policy and a developer portal, API development is the better fit. If your team writes JavaScript and the service is small and I/O-bound, Node.js will cost less to run and to staff.

Technical Architecture

How Miracuves engineers structure Spring Boot projects for production

Below are the calls our engineers make on every Spring Boot project before the first controller is written. They decide whether the service can take its twentieth feature module cleanly, or ends up with beans, transactions and entities so tangled that someone has to rewrite it.

  • 01

    Architecture - Clean, Feature-First Modules

Each feature module owns one business area - its controllers, services, repositories and configuration - and the layers stay apart: controllers handle HTTP, services hold the domain rules and transactions, repositories handle the data. Modules talk through service interfaces, never through each other's entities. That is how Miracuves adds a new module in 2 days without breaking existing functionality.

  • 02

Structure - Layering with Dependency Injection

Every bean receives its dependencies through the constructor, so behavior is predictable and a service can be unit-tested with plain objects instead of a Spring context. The problem we inherit most often from other agencies is business logic sitting in controllers, which forces every test to boot a web context and makes each run slower. We remove it on day one, as a hard standard rather than a suggestion.

  • 03

Performance - Transaction Boundaries and Connection Pools

Slow Spring services are almost always slow at the data layer. We keep @Transactional at the service boundary instead of scattered through the stack, size the HikariCP pool against measured concurrency rather than defaults, and use fetch joins to eliminate N+1 selects. Profiling runs against a warmed JVM, because cold-start numbers mislead.

What most Spring Boot agencies get wrong

Fat controllers holding business logic. @Transactional scattered over controllers and repositories. Field injection that makes testing painful. API keys hardcoded in application.yml. No CI pipeline. Benchmarking a cold JVM and calling it production performance. Miracuves has taken over Spring Boot services with every one of these problems - starting correctly is always faster than cleaning up.

OrderService.java - Spring Boot service layer
// Orders API: transaction at the service layer, line items in one query@RestController@RequestMapping("/api/orders")class OrderController {    private final OrderService service;    OrderController(OrderService service) { this.service = service; }  // constructor injection    @GetMapping    List<OrderView> recent(@AuthenticationPrincipal Jwt jwt) {        return service.recentOrders(jwt.getSubject());    }}@Serviceclass OrderService {    private final OrderRepository orders;    OrderService(OrderRepository orders) { this.orders = orders; }    @Transactional(readOnly = true)    public List<OrderView> recentOrders(String customerId) {        Instant since = Instant.now().minus(30, ChronoUnit.DAYS);        return orders.findRecentWithItems(customerId, since)                     .stream().map(OrderView::from).toList();    }}interface OrderRepository extends JpaRepository<Order, Long> {    // Fetch join: orders and their items in one select, not 1 + N    @Query("select distinct o from Order o join fetch o.items " +           "where o.customerId = :customerId and o.createdAt > :since")    List<Order> findRecentWithItems(String customerId, Instant since);}
The orders endpoint loads each order with its line items in one query, however many orders a customer has, and the transaction boundary sits on the service method, not on the controller or the repository. Constructor injection means the service can be unit-tested with a fake repository and no Spring context.

Quality Standards

How Miracuves ensures every Spring Boot delivery meets production standard

No Spring Boot codebase leaves Miracuves until it has passed the gates below - the delivery standard for every repository we hand over, not a checklist ticked at the end.

  • Clean architecture - Presentation / Domain / Data separatedArchitecture
  • Constructor injection - no business logic in controllersState
  • HikariCP pool sized against measured concurrency, not defaultsPerformance
  • API contract and integration tests - run against real PostgreSQL in TestcontainersQA
  • CI/CD pipeline - every push runs the tests, builds the container image and checks migrations, from day oneDevOps
  • No secrets in the repository - database passwords and API keys come from environment config or a secrets manager onlySecurity
  • Production-ready - Actuator endpoints secured, graceful shutdown on, rollback verifiedDelivery

Enforced QA Gates

Our 6 Continuous Delivery Gateways

Every line of Java, every Flyway migration and every production build has to clear all six gates below before the repository is handed over to you.

01

Code Review on Every Pull Request

A senior Miracuves Spring Boot engineer reviews every pull request before it merges into your main branch, reading the transaction boundaries, the queries and the security configuration. Code without tests does not reach your production environment, whatever the deadline.

02

Automated Test Coverage Required

Unit tests cover the service-layer rules with plain JUnit, contract tests check each endpoint's request and response schema, and integration tests run the critical flows against real PostgreSQL in Testcontainers. A minimum coverage level is enforced before any release build is created.

03

Production Builds Profiled - Not DevTools Runs

Spring Boot DevTools is a development aid: it restarts the application on every change and is switched off in a packaged build, so timings taken with it say nothing about production. Miracuves profiles the packaged application on a warmed JVM with production settings - query counts, connection pool waits, garbage collection pauses and p95 latency under a load test - before every release.

04

Handoff Package - Not Just a Repository

Every handoff includes the source code, documentation, an environment setup guide, API documentation with the OpenAPI spec, deployment credentials, cloud and database access, and a post-launch runbook - a package, not just a repository link.

05

Production Release - Deploy, Migrations and Rollback Managed

Miracuves handles the production release: the container image built by the pipeline, Flyway migrations applied by the release process rather than by hand, rolling or blue-green deploys with Actuator readiness and liveness probes, TLS, secrets and a tested rollback.

06

Post-Launch Monitoring - 60-Day Active Support

Actuator metrics flow through Micrometer to Prometheus and Grafana, and Sentry catches exceptions, before launch. During the 60-day post-launch support window Miracuves watches error rates, slow endpoints, connection pool saturation and JVM memory, and acts on problems before your users report them.

Discuss Ongoing Work

Why Miracuves publishes pricesA team that sees the cost of a Spring Boot build up front makes better product decisions. If your scope needs a larger budget, Miracuves shows you which services, integrations or security requirements drive it, instead of simply quoting more.

What affects Spring Boot project cost at Miracuves

Readymade clone pricing stays fixed when your scope matches the base product. A custom Spring Boot build is priced on what it contains: how many services or modules it has, the systems it must integrate with (SSO and LDAP, payment providers, ERPs, legacy databases), security and audit requirements, event streaming with Kafka, data migration from an existing system, and the throughput it has to be load-tested to.

Typical Spring Boot budget ranges

  • Readymade clonefrom $2,1996 days
  • Custom Spring Boot backend workfrom $3,699depending on the work
  • Custom MVP$8,000-$25,0002-8 weeks depending on scope
  • Ongoing retainerfrom $2,299/month for feature work and maintenance

Every Spring Boot quote is written down before you pay anything, so no surprise invoice follows kickoff.

Example engagement

What a typical Spring Boot project looks like at Miracuves

An illustrative example of a typical project of this kind, with client details anonymized. Figures show what this kind of build targets, not a named client's results.

A Singapore-based digital banking platform needed a high-performance transaction processing engine with real-time balance updates, double-entry ledger management, event-driven architecture, and multi-currency support - built on Spring Boot - within 10 weeks for their regulatory sandbox approval.

  1. 01

    The Challenge

Required a Spring Boot microservices architecture handling 10K+ TPS with ACID transaction guarantees across sharded PostgreSQL, event sourcing with Axon Framework for audit trails, Kafka for inter-service communication, and a Reactor-based reactive API layer - all before MAS regulatory sandbox submission deadline.

  2. 02

    What Miracuves Delivered

Designed a modular Spring Boot 3 microservices architecture with 12 services communicating via Kafka event streams, Axon Framework for CQRS and event sourcing, WebFlux for reactive transaction processing, and Spring Security OAuth2 with token management built for the MAS sandbox review. Deployed to AWS EKS with Istio service mesh.

  3. 03

    Outcome

Delivered on week 10. Achieved 10K TPS at 12ms average latency during load testing. Event-sourced audit trail passed MAS sandbox review with zero findings. 12 microservices deployed to production with blue-green deployments and full observability (Grafana + Prometheus).

Frequently Asked

Questions about Spring Boot backend development

Something not covered here? Ask on WhatsApp and you will usually have an answer within two hours.

Ask us directly
What is Spring Boot and why is it popular for enterprise development?

Spring Boot is a Java framework that simplifies enterprise backend development. It provides auto-configuration, embedded servers, and production-ready features like monitoring and health checks. Popular for its convention-over-configuration approach and vast ecosystem of libraries supporting everything from REST APIs to microservices.

How much does Spring Boot development cost at Miracuves?

Readymade clone pricing stays fixed when your scope matches the base product: a ready-made platform from our catalogue - web app, admin panel and mobile apps - starts from $2,199 and ships in 6 days. Custom Spring Boot backend work starts from $3,699, depending on the work. A custom Spring Boot MVP typically runs $8,000-$25,000 and takes 2-8 weeks depending on scope - the number of services, the systems it integrates with, security and audit requirements, event streaming, data migration and load targets decide where it lands. Ongoing Spring Boot development is available from $2,299/month for feature work and maintenance. Every quote is written before payment, with no surprise invoices after kickoff.

How long does it take to build a production-ready Spring Boot application?

A custom Spring Boot MVP with core features takes 2-8 weeks at Miracuves; larger enterprise scopes, such as a full microservices platform, are quoted in writing with their own timeline before work starts. Timeline depends on complexity, third-party integrations, security requirements, and testing coverage needed for your industry. A ready-made platform from our catalogue ships in 6 working days.

What is the typical cost of enterprise Spring Boot development?

Custom Spring Boot backend work starts from $3,699, depending on the work. A custom Spring Boot MVP typically runs $8,000-$25,000. Larger enterprise applications with many services, Spring Security, monitoring and CI/CD are quoted in writing after scoping. Pricing depends on features, integrations, scale requirements, and ongoing support needs; ongoing work is available from $2,299/month.

Is Spring Boot suitable for microservices architecture?

Yes, Spring Boot combined with Spring Cloud is ideal for microservices. It provides service discovery (Eureka), circuit breakers (Resilience4j), API gateways, distributed tracing, and centralized configuration. Many Fortune 500 companies use Spring Boot as their microservices foundation.

How does Spring Security handle authentication and authorization?

Spring Security provides comprehensive authentication with OAuth2, JWT tokens, SAML, and LDAP integration. Role-based access control (RBAC) and method-level security ensure fine-grained permissions. It works directly with Spring Data for permission-based data access.

What databases and data stores work with Spring Boot?

Spring Data supports all major databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server for RDBMS; MongoDB and Cassandra for NoSQL; Redis for caching; Elasticsearch for search. JPA/Hibernate provides ORM while Spring Data Redis and Spring Data MongoDB handle polyglot persistence.

How does Spring Boot compare to Django, Rails, or Express.js?

Spring Boot brings static typing, mature transaction management, Spring Security and built-in operational tooling, which is why it is common in financial services, healthcare and large-scale e-commerce that need security, monitoring and distributed architecture. Django and Rails usually get a CRUD product with an admin to market faster, and Express suits small I/O-heavy APIs. All of them scale horizontally; the difference is how much structure and tooling you get before writing your own code. See Django, Rails or Express.js development.

Does Miracuves provide ongoing support and maintenance for Spring Boot applications?

Yes. Every delivery includes 60 days of post-launch support, and ongoing Spring Boot development is available from $2,299/month: monitoring (Spring Boot Actuator, Prometheus), security updates, Spring Boot and dependency upgrades, performance optimization, and feature enhancements. Services are load-tested before launch and monitored after, with health checks, alerting and a tested rollback; uptime targets and any failover setup are agreed in writing for your infrastructure.

Do you work with Spring Boot clients in the USA?

Yes. Miracuves is based in Mumbai and delivers Spring Boot projects remotely to clients worldwide, including companies across the USA; we do not have a US office. Contracts, NDAs, sprint demos and handoff all run remotely, with quotes and timelines agreed in writing before payment. The code lives in a repository you own, and deployments go to your own AWS, Google Cloud or Azure account. First response is under 2 hours, Mon-Sat 10:00-19:00 IST.

Can I hire dedicated Spring Boot developers from Miracuves?

Miracuves does not rent individual developers by the hour. If you need continuing Spring Boot capacity, the Ongoing Spring Boot Development retainer starts from $2,299/month and assigns a dedicated Miracuves team to your product, with direct communication, weekly sprint demos and 2 weeks notice to cancel. For a defined project, a Custom Spring Boot Build is scoped and priced before development begins. First response is under 2 hours, Mon-Sat 10:00-19:00 IST.

Should my Spring Boot API use Spring MVC or WebFlux?

Most APIs should use Spring MVC. It is simpler to write, debug and test, and with virtual threads enabled on a recent Java release it handles high concurrency without reactive code. WebFlux earns its extra complexity when the whole path is non-blocking - streaming responses, many long-lived connections, or a gateway that mostly waits on other services - and every driver underneath is reactive too, such as R2DBC for the database. Mixing WebFlux with blocking JPA calls gives you the complexity without the benefit, so we decide per service and write the reason down.
