In short

Miracuves builds custom Node.js backends in TypeScript - REST and GraphQL APIs, WebSocket real-time services, backend-for-frontend layers and serverless functions - on NestJS, Fastify or Express, running on Node.js LTS releases. Custom Node.js work takes 2-8 weeks and is quoted in writing; a ready-made platform from our catalogue of 90+ ships in 6 working days. You own 100% of the source code.

Our Node.js Approach

How Miracuves delivers Node.js backends - from 9,000+ projects of real experience

Across 9,000+ projects and 3,900+ published apps, Miracuves has settled on a fixed way of starting a Node.js backend. It does not begin with an empty package.json: it begins from TypeScript modules we have already run in production - payment gateway clients, maps and location, WebSocket gateways, authentication and queue workers - so the first sprint goes into your business logic rather than plumbing.

Node.js runs your code on one event loop and hands network and disk waits to the operating system, so a single process can keep thousands of idle connections open - WebSocket clients, long-polling dashboards, calls out to payment and maps APIs - without a thread for each. That is why live tracking, chat, notifications and streaming updates suit it. V8 compiles hot JavaScript to machine code at runtime, and npm, the largest package registry of any language, covers authentication, payments and most integrations; we vet every dependency before it goes in, and the full source code is yours on handoff.

Who this service is built for: Founders and product teams launching on-demand, delivery, fintech, OTT, or marketplace apps who need scalable APIs, real-time capabilities, and microservices architectures fast - without hiring large backend teams. Miracuves Node.js development fits when you want a custom TypeScript backend - or a Node.js real-time or API layer added to a ready-made platform - with published pricing, full IP ownership and one company accountable for delivery, not individual contractors. Already settled on Express and want framework-level detail? Our Express development page covers it. If your product depends on heavy CPU-bound processing or legacy monolithic systems, we will say so upfront and recommend an alternative stack instead.

  • Express or NestJS framework enforced: modular route controllers, testable services from day one
  • TypeScript for type safety: interfaces, DTOs, and strict mode on every project
  • Socket.io / WebSockets for real-time features (live tracking, chat, notifications) when required
  • CI/CD pipeline via Docker + GitHub Actions configured on every project: automated builds from first commit
  • MongoDB or PostgreSQL database layer with ORM (Mongoose/Prisma): schema migrations managed

Honest noteThe ready-made platforms above ship on their own proven stacks - Node.js among them - in 6 working days; a Node.js backend of your own is custom work, 2-8 weeks. For heavy CPU-bound workloads like video transcoding or ML inference, Miracuves may recommend Python or Go services alongside Node.js. We tell you which fits before any commitment.

Technology Comparison

Node.js vs Python vs Java - which backend is right for your project?

Node.js, Python and Java can each run a serious backend; they differ in how they handle concurrent connections, how they do real-time, and which libraries they bring. Miracuves builds in all three and tells you honestly which one your product needs - the choice sets your hosting cost, how the backend scales and who can maintain it later.

Node.js guide

What to know before you hire a Node.js development company

The decisions a founder or CTO faces before committing to a Node.js backend, answered for the Node.js runtime specifically - where it fits and where it does not, which framework, TypeScript, the release policy, and how it compares with Go and Python.

When is Node.js the right backend, and when is it not?

Node.js is at its best when a backend spends most of its time waiting: on the database, on payment and maps APIs, on other microservices, on clients holding a WebSocket open. Its single event loop hands those waits to the operating system, so one process serves thousands of connections. That makes it a strong fit for:

It is the wrong tool when each request burns CPU - video transcoding, large PDF or image batches, model inference, heavy numeric work. A long calculation blocks the event loop and every other request waits. Worker threads handle occasional heavy jobs; if computation is the product, that part goes to Go or Python and Node.js stays at the edge.

  • JSON APIs that combine data from several sources
  • Real-time features - chat, live tracking, dashboards, notifications
  • Backend-for-frontend layers that shape data for one web or mobile client
  • Serverless functions and webhooks that must start quickly

NestJS, Fastify or Express - which Node.js framework should you use?

All three run on the same runtime, so the choice is about structure, not speed. Express is the minimal, most widely known option with the largest middleware ecosystem; Express 5 is now the current major. Fastify is faster on raw request handling and validates requests and serializes responses from JSON Schema. NestJS adds modules, dependency injection, guards and decorators on top of Express or Fastify, which keeps a large TypeScript codebase consistent when several developers work on it.

Our default is NestJS for products that will grow for years, and Fastify or Express for small APIs, webhooks and BFF layers. If you have already chosen Express and want detail on middleware, routing and Express-specific upgrades, our Express development service is the better page.

Should a Node.js backend be written in TypeScript?

For anything beyond a script, yes. TypeScript catches wrong field names, missing null checks and broken function signatures at build time, and it lets the backend and a React or React Native front end share the same request and response types, so a renamed field breaks the build instead of production. Recent Node.js releases can run .ts files directly by stripping the types, but they do not check them: we still run tsc --strict in CI.

Types disappear at runtime, so data arriving from clients is validated with a schema (Zod, class-validator in NestJS, or JSON Schema in Fastify) before it reaches business logic. We enable strict mode on every new project and migrate existing JavaScript code file by file.

Node.js vs Go vs Python - which backend fits your product?

Pick Node.js when the product is I/O-bound and your team already writes JavaScript or TypeScript: one language across front end and backend, the npm ecosystem, and first-class WebSocket support. Pick Go for network services that must start in milliseconds, run as a single small binary and use CPU cores in parallel without extra processes - proxies, high-throughput event processors, infrastructure tooling; see Golang development. Pick Python when the backend lives next to data science or machine learning, where its libraries have no equal in either language; see Python development.

Many of our products mix them: a Node.js API and real-time layer in front, with a Go or Python service behind it for the one job that needs it.

Which Node.js version should production run?

Only a Long-Term Support (LTS) release. Each Node.js LTS line gets about 30 months of fixes, and releases that never reach LTS are not meant for production. In September 2026, Node.js 24 is the active LTS, 22 is in maintenance until April 2027, 26 becomes LTS in October 2026, and Node.js 20 reached end of life in April 2026.

The schedule is changing: from Node.js 27, there is one major release a year, in April, and every release becomes LTS in October, with an alpha channel for early testing. We start new projects on the active LTS, test the next line in CI before it is promoted, and plan each upgrade months before end of life so a backend never runs without security fixes.

How does a Node.js backend scale real-time features and serverless workloads?

One Node.js process uses one CPU core for JavaScript, so production runs several processes - PM2 cluster mode on a VM, or several containers behind a load balancer. WebSocket traffic then needs two extras: sticky sessions, so a client's connection stays on one instance, and a Redis adapter, so an event emitted on one instance reaches clients connected to the others.

Node.js also starts fast, which suits serverless platforms such as AWS Lambda and Google Cloud Run for spiky APIs, webhooks and scheduled jobs. Lambda does not hold WebSocket connections itself, so real-time on serverless goes through API Gateway WebSockets or a managed pub/sub service. We choose between containers and serverless from your traffic shape and cost, not by habit.

Should you hire Node.js developers or work with a Node.js development company?

Hire in-house when the Node.js backend is your core product and there is years of steady work for a team; look for engineers who understand the event loop, async error handling and database pooling, not only a framework. Work with a company when you need a whole team for a defined build - backend developers, QA and DevOps - or a one-off job such as moving an old Express 4 or end-of-life Node.js app to a current LTS.

Miracuves does not rent individual developers by the hour. A custom Node.js build is scoped and priced before work starts, and the retainer from $2,299/month keeps a dedicated Miracuves Node.js team on your product after launch.

Technical Architecture

How Miracuves engineers structure Node.js projects for production

These are the decisions our Node.js engineers make on every project - module boundaries, framework, how CPU work is kept off the event loop - the choices that decide whether a TypeScript backend scales cleanly or turns into a callback-tangled codebase that has to be rewritten.

  • 01

    Architecture - Clean, Layered Modules

Strict separation: Controllers → Services → Repositories. Every feature module owns its routes, middleware, service logic, and data models independently. This is how Miracuves adds a new feature module in 2 days without breaking existing API contracts: the module registers its own routes and providers, and the controllers already in production are not touched.

  • 02

Framework - Express for APIs, NestJS for Enterprise

Express, or Fastify where throughput and built-in JSON schema validation matter, keeps a small API lightweight. NestJS adds modules, dependency injection, guards and decorators for larger codebases that several developers will change for years. The most common problem inherited from other agencies: unstructured routes with business logic in controllers. We move that logic into services on day one and block it in code review from then on - a hard standard in every Node.js repository, not a suggestion.

  • 03

Performance - Worker Threads and Connection Pooling

CPU-bound tasks run in worker threads to keep the event loop free. Database connections are pooled by the driver or ORM (pg Pool, Prisma, Mongoose) and sized to the database's limits. We load-test the production build and read V8 CPU profiles (node --cpu-prof) before every release - timings from a dev server running in watch mode are never used as a performance benchmark.

What most Node.js agencies get wrong

No input validation. No rate limiting. Hardcoded secrets in environment files pushed to git. No database connection pooling. Blocking the event loop with synchronous file reads. Miracuves has inherited Node.js codebases with every one of these problems - starting with validation, pooling and a free event loop is always faster than cleaning up afterwards.

quote.ts - keeping the event loop free
// quote.ts - CPU-heavy work runs in a worker thread, so the event loop keeps servingimport { createServer } from 'node:http';import { Worker, isMainThread, parentPort, workerData } from 'node:worker_threads';// Stand-in for real CPU work: route optimization, PDF rendering, image resizingfunction priceRoute(stops: number): number {  let cost = 0;  for (let i = 0; i < stops * 2_000_000; i++) cost += Math.sqrt(i) % 3;  return Math.round(cost);}if (!isMainThread) {  parentPort!.postMessage(priceRoute(workerData.stops));} else {  // Production code takes workers from a pool (Piscina) instead of one per request  const inWorker = (stops: number) =>    new Promise<number>((resolve, reject) => {      const worker = new Worker(new URL(import.meta.url), { workerData: { stops } });      worker.once('message', resolve);      worker.once('error', reject);    });  const server = createServer(async (req, res) => {    const url = new URL(req.url ?? '/', 'http://localhost');    if (url.pathname === '/health') return void res.end('ok'); // answers even mid-calculation    if (url.pathname !== '/quote') return void res.writeHead(404).end();    const stops = Number(url.searchParams.get('stops'));    if (!Number.isInteger(stops) || stops < 1 || stops > 50) {      return void res.writeHead(422).end('stops must be a whole number from 1 to 50');    }    try {      const cost = await inWorker(stops);      res.writeHead(200, { 'content-type': 'application/json' });      res.end(JSON.stringify({ stops, cost }));    } catch {      res.writeHead(500).end('quote failed');    }  });  server.listen(3000);  // On deploy: stop accepting connections, let in-flight requests finish  process.on('SIGTERM', () => server.close());}
Plain Node.js and TypeScript, no framework: the route that does CPU-heavy pricing hands the work to a worker thread, so /health and every other request keep being answered while it runs. Input is validated before any work starts, and SIGTERM lets in-flight requests finish during a deploy. In production the workers come from a pool, and the same pattern sits behind our NestJS, Fastify or Express routes. Type-checks under tsc --strict and runs on current Node.js LTS.

Quality Standards

How Miracuves ensures every Node.js delivery meets production standard

Every Node.js backend passes the same quality gates before handoff - type checks, tests, load tests, dependency and secrets scans - applied in CI as a delivery standard on every repository we ship, not ticked off as a checklist at the end.

Enforced QA Gates

Our 6 Continuous Delivery Gateways

Every commit, dependency and production build of your Node.js backend must clear all six quality control gates below before the repository is handed over.

01

Code Review on Every Pull Request

Every pull request into your main branch is reviewed by a senior Miracuves Node.js engineer, who checks for blocking calls on the event loop, unhandled promise rejections and missing validation. No untested code reaches your production environment under any circumstances.

02

Automated Test Coverage Required

Unit tests for business logic, API tests for every endpoint (Supertest or Fastify's inject), and integration tests against a real database in a container for critical flows. Minimum coverage is enforced in CI before any release is tagged.

03

Production Builds Load-Tested - Not Dev Servers

Miracuves load-tests the compiled, NODE_ENV=production build with k6 or Artillery on every release and profiles hot paths with the V8 CPU profiler. Numbers from a dev server with watch mode and source maps are not representative of what users experience and are never accepted as sufficient.

04

Handoff Package - Not Just a Repository

Source code, the OpenAPI specification, environment setup guide, Docker and CI configuration, database migration scripts, deployment credentials and a post-launch runbook - all included in every Node.js project handoff.

05

Production Deployment - Full Server Setup Managed

Miracuves handles Docker containerization, SSL certificates, load balancer configuration, environment secrets management, database provisioning, and cloud infrastructure setup for AWS, GCP, or DigitalOcean.

06

Post-Launch Monitoring - 60-Day Active Support

Sentry error tracking and Datadog/Prometheus monitoring configured pre-launch. Miracuves monitors error rates, API response times, and server health metrics during the 60-day post-launch support window - proactive, not reactive.

Why Miracuves publishes pricesFounders who see the cost of a Node.js backend up front make better decisions about scope. If your project needs a larger budget - more real-time load, more integrations - Miracuves will explain exactly why, not simply charge more.

What affects Node.js project cost at Miracuves

Ready-made platform pricing stays fixed when your scope matches the base product. Custom Node.js builds scale with: number of user roles (customer, driver, admin, vendor), real-time features (live GPS via Socket.io, chat, video), payment and compliance integrations (Stripe, KYC, multi-currency), multi-region or multi-language rollout, and third-party APIs beyond the standard stack.

Typical Node.js budget ranges

Our leadership is public, with real LinkedIn profiles, not a stock-photo team page. A named team works your build and sends you progress on WhatsApp every working day.

  • 02Proof over promises

Every number we publish, pricing, timelines, project counts, is defined and sourced on a public facts ledger. If we can't back a claim, we don't make it.

  • 03A process with a deadline

Ready-made platforms go from kickoff to live deployment in 6 working days, guaranteed: miss it for reasons on our side and we work free until launch. Custom builds get a fixed quote after a free feasibility study.

A backend rarely ships alone: it needs a front end, a mobile app or an admin panel, and a place to run. These are the services clients most often add.

Frequently Asked

Questions about Node.js development at Miracuves

Ask us directly
Can Node.js handle high-traffic production applications?

Yes. Node.js's event-driven, non-blocking I/O model handles 10K+ concurrent connections per process. With PM2 clustering or several containers behind a load balancer, Redis for shared sessions, and rolling restarts on deploy, Miracuves-deployed backends scale horizontally and are load-tested before launch. Netflix, PayPal, and LinkedIn all run Node.js at scale.

How much does Node.js development cost at Miracuves?

A ready-made platform from our catalogue starts from $2,199 and ships in 6 days, and its price stays fixed when your scope matches the base product. Custom Node.js backend work starts from $3,699, depending on the work. A custom Node.js MVP typically runs $8,000-$25,000 and takes 2-8 weeks depending on scope - the number of user roles (customer, driver, admin, vendor), real-time features such as live GPS via Socket.io, chat or video, payment and compliance integrations (Stripe, KYC, multi-currency), multi-region or multi-language rollout, and third-party APIs beyond the standard stack decide where it lands. An ongoing retainer starts from $2,299/month for feature work and maintenance. Every quote is written before payment, with no surprise invoices after kickoff.

Does Miracuves deliver the full source code?

Yes - completely. Miracuves delivers the full Node.js codebase, repository with complete commit history, Docker configurations, environment documentation, API specifications, and all deployment credentials. Zero lock-in. Any Node.js developer - your team or another company - can run npm install, start the backend and continue the work immediately after handoff.

How fast can a Node.js backend realistically be delivered?

A ready-made platform from our catalogue - web app, admin panel and mobile apps, with your branding and configuration - ships in 6 working days. A custom Node.js backend, API or real-time service takes 2-8 weeks depending on scope. All timelines are stated in writing before any payment is requested.

Node.js vs Python - which does Miracuves recommend?

For real-time products and API layers - on-demand dispatch, chat, live dashboards, marketplaces - Node.js is usually right: long-lived WebSocket connections suit its event loop, one language (TypeScript) runs across frontend and backend, and npm is the largest package ecosystem. Miracuves recommends Python honestly when the product needs heavy ML/AI or data processing.

What is included in the admin panel with every delivery?

A web-based admin dashboard with user management, order and booking management, analytics panel, content control, payout and commission management, and platform configuration - delivered as a separate web application that works in any browser.

Does Miracuves handle server deployment and infrastructure?

Yes, as part of every delivery engagement. Miracuves handles Docker containerization, cloud provisioning (AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean), SSL certificates, load balancer setup, CI/CD pipeline configuration, and environment secrets management. Production infrastructure is fully documented and handed over.

What happens after the backend is deployed if there are bugs?

Every Miracuves Node.js delivery includes 60 days of post-launch technical support, with error tracking already wired in so we see failures as they happen. Bugs within the delivered scope are fixed at no additional cost. Feature additions beyond scope are quoted separately. Monthly maintenance retainers are available at published rates.

How does Miracuves handle NDA and confidentiality?

Miracuves signs a bilateral NDA before you share any project details. It covers your API design, data model, business logic and every other technical detail. An IP assignment agreement - 100% of the Node.js code, schemas and infrastructure scripts transfers to you - is signed at project start, not at the end.

Can Miracuves upgrade an old Node.js application to a supported LTS release?

Yes. We audit the dependencies and native modules first, then move the application one LTS line at a time - for example from an end-of-life Node.js 18 or 20 to 24 - fixing deprecated APIs, replacing abandoned packages, and running the test suite and a load test at each step. Express 4 applications are moved to Express 5 in the same project where it makes sense. The upgrade is scoped and quoted in writing before work begins.

Does Miracuves build serverless Node.js backends?

Yes. We build Node.js functions for AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Run and similar platforms when traffic is spiky or event-driven - webhooks, scheduled jobs, file processing, APIs with quiet periods - and containers when traffic is steady or connections are long-lived. Real-time features on serverless go through API Gateway WebSockets or a managed pub/sub service. We recommend one or the other from your traffic and running cost before any payment.

Does Miracuves offer white-label Node.js development for agencies?

Yes. Agencies bring Miracuves in as their Node.js team for client backends. The NDA is signed before any detail is shared, the code and documentation are handed over ready to carry your brand, and full source code and IP are assigned to you or your client at handoff. First response is under 2 hours, Mon-Sat 10:00-19:00 IST.
