Twitter Clone Development Cost: $3,399, Fixed
Building a public conversation platform from scratch means the feed, the composer, the social graph, messaging with presence, search, moderation tooling, an ad engine and a developer platform, across three clients. Quotes for that work start in the tens of thousands and run for months. This is the same surface, already built, at a one-time fixed price rather than a starting figure.

Four routes to the same platform, and what each one costs you in money, time and ownership.
| Route | Typical cost | What you end up owning |
|---|---|---|
| Generic social script | $500 - $3,000 | A feed and a composer. The moderation queue, the ad desk and the developer platform are what is missing |
| Freelance team | $30,000 - $90,000 | The screens you specified, across three clients that drift apart because there is no single contract |
| Miracuves ready-made | $3,399 fixed | Every commercial surface present on day one, deployed in six working days |
| Custom agency build | $90,000 - $300,000 | A bespoke platform, and a timeline measured in quarters before the first post is moderated |
| Enterprise programme | Six figures and up | A senior team over twelve to twenty-four months, which is the honest figure for this depth from nothing |
The ranges above are market observations for comparable scope, not quotes from us. Our number is the one in the highlighted row and it does not move after scoping. The enterprise route exists for large brands, media houses, telcos and agencies, and is quoted against the final scope rather than listed here.
What the Price Includes
Ownership transfers in full, with no per-seat licence, no revenue share and no dependency on a vendor roadmap.
We will walk the repository, the Firestore rules and the documentation set with your technical lead before anything is signed.
What Moves the Number
The base price is fixed. What moves it is integration work, and on a social platform the list is short and predictable.
Payment rails beyond the reference
The build references a Stripe setup. Additional processors, regional rails and the merchant relationships behind them are integration work on your accounts. If you are collecting tier revenue and creator payouts in several currencies, this is the first line to scope.
Automated moderation
The queue, the five actions and the audit trail are built, and a person works them. Automated classification of text or imagery is a separate integration, and on a network expecting volume it is worth scoping before launch rather than after the first incident.
A media transcoding pipeline
Video and audio upload and play as shipped, but multiple renditions and adaptive bitrates are not part of the base build. If members will post video freely, this is both real engineering and a real recurring cost, and it is quoted rather than assumed.
The iOS build
The Flutter client ships as an Android build with feature parity on the core experience. An iOS build is produced on request, and Apple developer accounts, signing and review remain yours either way. On a social product the review cycle is usually the longer half.
Deeper role granularity
Admin authentication is separate from member authentication and every privileged action is audited. Splitting the operator role further, so trust and safety sees the report queue and finance sees ad spend and nothing else, is configuration we scope with you.
Scale beyond a single host
Firestore carries the read path and the deployment guidance targets a Linux host with PM2. Growing past that is ordinary work rather than a redesign, but capacity planning, CDN placement and Cloud Function concurrency are decisions with cost attached.
Anything beyond the base is quoted after scoping. You approve a number before work starts rather than watching one accumulate.
The Six-Day Path to Live
What happens in the six working days, in the order it happens.
Decide the launch surface
Which of the five revenue lines are live on day one, what the subscription tiers cost, and whether the developer API opens at launch or later. On a network the sequencing is a commercial decision rather than a release, because none of it requires a code change to switch on.
Branding across three surfaces
Name, logo and colour scheme across the Next.js web application, the Flutter client and the operator console, with the moderation policy language and content warning copy set to match how you intend to run the network rather than how we would.
Deploy and connect your accounts
The application goes onto infrastructure you control with the Firestore project, security rules and composite indexes deployed as code. Your Firebase project, Google sign-in credentials, the referenced payment setup and push delivery are connected with credentials you hold.
Stand up the operator side
Administrator accounts created on the separate authentication path, the report queue configured with your resolution policy, subscription tiers priced with server-side entitlement, and the first ad campaign record created so the desk is proven before an advertiser sees it.
Walkthrough and handover
We run the loop end to end in front of your team: post from one account, message a second, report the post, resolve it in the console, then read the audit entry it wrote and the login history behind both accounts. Source, Firestore configuration and documentation transfer.
The support window
Sixty days of launch guidance, six months of priority bug fixes and twelve months of updates. Automated moderation, a transcoding pipeline, the iOS build and additional payment rails usually run inside this window on their own scoped schedule.
Six working days covers our part. What it does not cover is the audience, and on a social product that is the item with the longest lead time by a wide margin.
Regional Development Rates
We do not publish a dollar figure for a from-scratch build, because the honest measure is time: a twelve to twenty-four month programme with a senior team. Here are the rates that let you size that yourself.
| Region | Senior engineer, blended hourly | What a 12-24 month programme implies |
|---|---|---|
| North America | $120 - $220 | The high end of any build-versus-buy comparison, and the reason most operators in this bracket buy |
| Western Europe | $90 - $170 | Comparable to North America once employer costs and notice periods are included |
| Gulf and Middle East | $60 - $130 | Often the market being sold into, which makes local hiring attractive and the timeline no shorter |
| Eastern Europe | $45 - $95 | The common outsourcing choice, where the risk shifts from cost to specification quality |
| Latin America | $40 - $85 | Time-zone overlap with North America is the usual reason, not the rate |
| South and Southeast Asia | $25 - $60 | The lowest rate, and where a great deal of the Firebase and Flutter experience actually sits |
Why we give you the rate instead of the total
A from-scratch total depends on your team size, your region, and how much of the operator layer you scope correctly at the start rather than bolt on after the first abuse incident. The feed and the composer are the easy part, and they are the part every estimate focuses on. A moderation queue with an audit trail, a typed ad engine with budgets and spend tracking, a developer platform with scoped keys and rate limits, and one API contract keeping three clients in step are each unglamorous, mandatory and slow. Publishing one number would mean inventing four assumptions and presenting them back to you as a finding.
Rates are indicative blended figures for social platform engineering, not quotes. They exist so you can do the arithmetic rather than take ours on trust.
Why the Price Is Fixed, Not "Starting At"
What a fixed number commits us to
The scope is the demo. What you see across the member experience, the conversation surface, the operator console and the mobile client is what ships. There is no discovery phase that discovers the price was optimistic, because the platform already exists and is already running on live infrastructure.
No percentage of anything you earn. We take nothing from subscription tiers, advertising, creator subscriptions, tips or developer API access. All five lines are yours to price and yours to keep.
No per-seat licence. Your hundred thousandth member costs you nothing extra from us, which on a network whose entire value is the number of people on it is exactly the wrong thing to be charged for.
The limitations are named before purchase. The absent automated moderation, the missing transcoding pipeline, the iOS build produced on request, the single referenced payment rail, and the fact that no software supplies an audience are all stated here and on the hub, and each is scoped and quoted before work starts.
The enterprise route exists for large brands, media houses, telcos, enterprises and agencies, and is quoted against the final scope rather than listed here.
Hidden Costs Most Quotes Leave Out
None of these are ours to charge. They are yours to budget, and on a social platform the first one dwarfs everything else on the list.
Acquiring the audience
This is the real cost of a social platform and the one no vendor can quote. A network with no people on it is a working product with no value, and closing that gap is a community, distribution and marketing programme rather than a line in a software budget.
Trust and safety staffing
The queue is built; somebody has to work it. Report volume scales with membership and it does not wait for business hours, so this is a rota rather than a role, and it starts being necessary far earlier than most operators expect.
Firestore reads at feed scale
Counters are denormalized onto the feed document specifically to keep this affordable, but a social read path is still read-heavy by nature. Model your document reads against expected sessions per member before you set any pricing.
Media storage and egress
Images, video, audio and GIFs accumulate and never shrink. Storage is cheap and egress is not, and a network where posting media is free to the member is one where that line grows with engagement rather than with revenue.
Legal and policy work
Terms, a moderation policy, a complaints route and jurisdiction-specific obligations for user-generated content are real work and they are not software. The audit trail and login history exist to support that work, not to substitute for it.
Payment fees on small amounts
Tips and monthly tiers are low-value transactions, which makes per-transaction fees proportionally heavy. Model the fee against your lowest tier and a typical tip before you set either, not after.
The first two decide whether the platform works at all. Everything else is ordinary running cost; those two are the ones that determine whether you have a network or an empty product.
Who you hire decides what the number means
